I have had a 29 gallon tank running for about 2 1/2 weeks now. It is the first tank I have ever had. I have 6 green tiger barbs, 2 platyes, and 1 dwarf gourami. I have a couple live plants, several fake plants, a couple of rocks, and a couple small structures (all aquarium-safe). The heater keeps the water at 78 degrees. The bio-wheel filter is for a tank up to 50 gallons. I have been feeding 1 to 2 times per day, alternating between tetramin flakes and freezedried bloodworms. The last couple of days the green tiger barbs seem to swim pointed down at about a 45 degree angle. It also seems like if they stop swimming, they float to the top almost immediately. It was especially bad with the biggest one tonight. It looked like he was having a difficult time swimming and if he stopped he would float quickly to the top, sometimes on his side. He would sometimes float at the top for a few seconds, then start swimming again. What is wrong?

Partly morbid curiousity, partly because my pitt who was NOT a fighter, was stolen from me years ago, he was so perfect and strong I think they stole him to fight him. I had him chipped so if I could see a lead and have him scanned, I might be able to get him if he can be retrained.

I recently moved from the Midwest to upper NY State. There are no aquarium clubs in my area. I am still a member of the Minnesota Aquarium Society and miss these fellow fish keepers dearly. I keep fresh water tropical fish, and all my tanks are planted. Fish and plants survived the 1,200 mile move to my new home. Does anyone in my area know of such a club?
Thanks for your help

I have never had a bearded dragon. I only have a gecko that I take very good care of. I want to help this guy out. Someone I know doesn't care about it & has been in a gagage for a long time. the other day I seen it. It looked dead. It wouldn;t move when I tapped on the cage. But i poked it lightly & one side of his body raised. I tried to give him some water. He wouldn't react much. Is he in a state of stasis?? Do you think he has a chance?? Tomorrow I am going to pick him up with the cage and all (hopefully he is still alive). The only reason I didn't take him in the first place is because I had no where to put him. But now I will be taking him to work (family owned) to take care of him. He wouldn't open his eyes but he was alive. The gecko that these guys had died. I don't want this guy to die!!!!! Please Help. What should I do!??!

I've just bought a Siamese fighting fish and its really cool. I've introduced it to my 32 Litre Tank, and its a coldwater one too. I know you are suppose to keep the water warm if the tank is over 8 Litre but the pet store lady said it will survive, {just not as active}. How do I take care of it?

I just bought this new puppy maltepoo and i get scared alot of times whether his sick or not. I was told if their nose is cold his FINE. but if the nose is warm or hot, definately his SICK. couple of times his nose was really warm and i got all worried i stayed up until 4am watching him coz i was afraid something might happen to him coz he looks like he was so weak all he did was layed down and i couldnt afford to take him to a vet i dont have insurance for him. But the next morning he was fined , so everytime i see him kinda sad i touch his nose see if its cold or warm and i get worried right away. My daughter started giving him same foods that we eat and now we only have him for 3 weeks he doesnt want to eat puppys food anymore and he keeps on wetting my daughter bed everyday. he seems to listen to my daughter but he doesnt listen to me but he spend alot of time with me coz my daughter at school. He doesnt bites on other things yet but everytime i take him or carry him he bites me

I've never seen this before. Her half-grown kitten, a neutered male, vomits huge quantities of watery vomit. I didn't know the little tummy could hold so much. He has been doing this a few times a week since he was pretty little. He's had vet checks, shots, and has been very well-cared for. His growth and weight are very good. Has anybody seen this before? Thanks for whatever you can tell us.

My friend says that in order for him to train his chiuaua DOG properly his friends should act properly when they go over to his house and not play with or look at the dog too much, so that the dog doesn't jump and act all crazy like it always does...so everyone is uncomfortable and hates going to visit him, this has been going on for TWO years now, my Q: Does training a dog involve training your friends and the people around you as well, such as telling people no to breath too hard or talk aloud and look at the dog, because the dog will react to their behaviour and act all crazy?

so i've had my little pembroke welsh corgi for a little under 2 months ....he is almost 5 months old.....up until this point he has not barked much at all. He's always slept in his kennel and has never whined or barked or made a peep in there until just recently. The last couple of nights he has randomly started barking in his kennel due to little noises like people tlaking/walking in the apt. above us. How can we make this stop, becuase our neighbors are going to get mad fast! He has never doen this before and doesn't bark hardly ever otherwise. What can we do???

She is 2 and has been using the litter box since she was able as a kitten. (we have had her since she was 2 weeks old) She all of a sudden started climbing in backpacks and boxes and peeing. I have been diligent about cleaning the box to make sure that is not why, and I just caught her trying to pee on papre on the floor next to the cat box. WHAT IS THE DEAL???

My mother insists on feeding the family dog horribly and she (the dog, Indy) needs help! She goes for runs and plays with my dad, which makes her happy. However, my mom doesn't earn Indy's respect and love by... say training or just petting her. She just feeds her food... massloads of random food and leftovers. She's gaining weight fast, it's wreaking havok on her joints, her coat is dull, she's deprested, has bad breath, she's just not healthy.
Anyway, every time I tell her she needs to come up with an actual "diet" we get in a big fight about how feeding "real" food is better. I'm all for the real food diet as long as she really followed a good plan, which would not happen. I'd really like to get her a good senior food and feed the required amount when needed. I know Indy would still get a lot of scraps but I would feel better if she was getting a bit of kibble. Then I would know she was getting SOME good nutrients. Any good articles I could show her, any ideas... anything?!

I had an all white pit bull. He was the only deaf pup out of the whole litter and the runt. He was fine didn't act sick nothing. Then about two days before he died he started acting really weird, like he would pee on himself and just lay there. He pink thing also came out and would not go back in all the way. I set up an appointment for a vet for three days away. But two days later i woke up and he was laying with me in bed with his head on my shoulder not moving. He was two years old and weighed about a hundred pounds. I moved him and he opened his eyes and closed them and never got up again. He was eating fine, didn't have diareaa, was a good weight everything. Then in one day he got thin and just died.
