I am assuming that you are referring to Syrian hamsters (the largest of the five commonly kept hamster species). If you have both a male and female I can understand why you would think this is true, but there is no intelligence difference between the two sexes. However, I have noticed a temperament difference between the two. Males are more laid back and less jumpy while being handled. Females are more curious and less content to sit in your hand for the same amount of as a male would. I've noticed that females tend to be more active in their cages as well. Females tend to chew more, escape more and run on their wheels more intensely than males. Does this mean that females can figure out how to escape more than males that they're smarter? No, the females are just more likely to "go for it". Put the males cage next to the females cage when she's in heat and if there's a way to get out, he'll find it!

There don't seem to be any studies which indicate that either gender of hamster is smarter, although female hamsters tend to be less susceptible to genetic diseases (as with the females of most species - females have two copies of the X chromosome, and they both have to be bad for the disease to show up.)

Sure I would assume, because female humans are smarter than males so why not apply that to hamsters...?

decide for a girl hamster by way of fact they are much less territorial and aggressive. I truthfully have 2 Roborovski hamsters that are the smallest, quickest variety of hamster, and yet they have not escaped from their cage, (I truthfully have had them for 2 years!) i think of it extremely is by way of fact I truthfully have Rotastak cages that are very solid, appealing to look at and fairly a number of the cages have not got bars to flee from yet are plastic and in the event that they do have bars they do no longer seem to be sufficiently enormous for the hamster to flee by. Roborovski hamsters are very cute yet they are very quickly so fairly difficult to cuddle. i think of girls individuals could be greater cuddly. wish this helps!

I'm not sure how you determine intelligence in hamsters. So no, for now.
