This is Why People Love Dogs
James Crane worked on the 101st floor of Tower 1 of the World Trade Center
He is blind so he has a golden retriever named Daisy. After the plane hit
20 stories below, James knew that he was doomed, so he let Daisy go, out of
an act of love. She darted away into the darkened hallway. Choking on the
fumes of the jet fuel and the smoke James was just waiting to die. About 30
minutes later, Daisy comes back along with James' boss, who Daisy just
happened to pick up on floor 112.
On her first run of the building, she leads James, James' boss, and about
300 more people out of the doomed building. But she wasn't through yet, she
knew there were others who were trapped. So, highly against James' wishes
she ran back in the building.
On her second run, she saved 392 lives. Again she went back in. During this
run, the building collapses. James hears about this and falls on his knees
into tears. Against all known odds, Daisy makes it out alive, but this time
she is carried by a firefighter. "She led us right to the people, before
she got injured" the fireman explained.
Her final run saved another 273 lives. She suffered acute smoke inhalation,
severe burns on all four paws, and a broken leg, but she saved 967 lives.
Daisy is the first civilian Canine to win the Medal of Honor of New York
City.
Dogs are the most awesome thing in the world. People are worthless; they lie, steal, kill. All they care about is themselves. Dogs are completely opposite. They're miracles with paws.

Your question isn't very specific. What do you mean by "important"? Do you mean why do people like them?
Dogs have contributed a lot to society in the past and present. They have hunted, protected, pulled sleds, herded livestock, and have served humans in many other ways, one being their loyal companionship.
Today, dogs are used to sniff out drugs, bombs, and other harmful substances. They can track down lost people and criminals, and a snarling police dog can quickly bring a situation under control without the use of guns. And for most people, they simply make great pets and are lots of fun to play with and hug.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but if you want to know why people like dogs so much the answer is simple. It's unconditional love. Your dog can misbehave and you will reprimand it and 5 seconds later it will be sitting in your lap wanting to snuggle. They give tons of love and only expect food, water and shelter in return. They give so much love and yet require so little in return...you will not find anything else in the world like it.

I own a pitbull and a pug and my pitbull is loyal and very sweet friendly will protect me if needed athletic My pug is cute a lap dog loves to cuddle it really matters what you want in a dog go research a breed if you are trying to see whats important about that one dog.

im sorry but for someone to ask that question you are asking you should never get a dog...because for a person who loves only understands and a dog is not an it....they become part your family...infact they are better...a dog can say a thousand things with just one look...
