Hershey Coco shakes like he has fleas or something when I scratch his coat, but he doesn't. His coat is clean. I've only had him for about a week, and I have never had a small type of dog like this..Is this normal?

My puppy is 11 weeks old and her nails are insanely long! Whenever she jumps up on me to play, she leaves long, painful scratches all over me from her nails. Can I clip them myself? If so, how?

I have a 5 month old male kitten and all of a sudden he has got really stinky! When you pick him up he leaves a really cheesy feet kind if smell on your hands.

I think he might be getting ready to spray - is this what it is?

We cought him eating something in a friend's garden, and we stopped him, but he had already eaten some, and there were fish bones among them. Have you had any such experience? If he has no symptom for a couple of days does this mean there is no problem?

PS. I have already called the vet, she said to watch for symptoms for 2 days, but I am wondering if anyone has had some similar experience and if so, what symptoms to expect.

My 2 1/2 year old lab mix was nuetered at 6 months. Over the weekend while at my in laws he started spraying in the house. Not a full urination, just a quick spray. He did it once at my in laws that do not have a dog and once at my brothers home that has two dogs. Why would he suddenly start this and and how do I stop it from happening again?!

I'm thinking of getting a GS pup for our family (boy-6, boy-4, girl-2). Any thoughts about what to look for in a pups personality? Is this a dog that is good with kids? How do I make them kid, guest friendly?

Our kitten hides from our family and we have trouble coaxing him out. We adopted him from whiskers. He was handled by a wonderful caregiver who cured him of respiratory problems as a small kitten. He is very shy. We have a 12 year old female who is pretty cuddly but hisses at the new member so we have been trying to introduce them slowly. They have separate dishes and kitty box. Our house can be noisy with kids over. We thought it might be helpful to keep the kitten in my daughters room with her at night and we have the litter box in her room and cat food until the kitten adjusts. My husband thinks that this is unsanitary and the food and box should be downstairs in the kitchen. However, when we bring the kitten downstairs, it seems afraid and wants to run and hide under furniture and not eat. How can we ease the transition for this adorable frightened kitten? we have only had him for three days. (christmas present for my daughter). The cat has been neutered and shots too.

i just set up my tank, ran it empty for a few days and then went and got the fish. On friday i got 6 fancy guppies, and then got 6 more plus a pletc. on saturday. I noticed sunday morning that the room where the tank is stinks really bad! i checked the filter and tank for dead fish...nothing! They all seem to be acting normal and none are discolored. Why does it stink so bad? Ohh, and its not a small tank.

They are littermates, live strictly indoors, are very well-adjusted. We use the same litter that we have for the past five years (this has only happened in the last six months). They also have received a clean bill of health from the vet. We have two litterboxes (one that self-cleans, and the other we have to clean which we do twice a day). They use the self-cleaning one the most, when they don't mess outside of the boxes. We're pondering getting an additional self-cleaning box in addition to the one we already have. Does this sound like it would take care of the problem? Their boxes are in a quiet extra bedroom in the house where they are not disturbed, so noise/distractions do not seem to be an issue there. Territorial, maybe?

I'm assuming the "Dog Whisperer" is expensive. Does anyone know how much it costs for him to come to your home and see your dog?

my son poured the whole thing of fish food in thier tank a few weeks ago, so i cleaned it out yesterday, completely changing the water and cleaned everything and i woke up this morning and they are all dead.... ive had them for a little over a year, its sad :(

anyways the question behind this....what did i do wrong? the water was 74 degrees, 2 degrees over what it should be, but i put them in a bag of their old water so that they could get used to the new temp. and once their old water was the temp. of thier new water i put them in the tank.....so that shouldnt have killed them...right??

should i change the water again before i put new fish in there??
please help, i dont want anymore fish dying!!

I was at the pet store the other day and saw an "I love you" fish. It looked like a chubby, all white gold fish but it had the words "I <3 U" on the side of it, like it was painted on! I can't find anything about it on the internet, what's the deal with this fish?

I am petsitting a fish for my neighbors while they are away. The fish is probably new because the "tank" is just a small basic jar with water and the goldfish in it. There is no filter. I need to change the water every other day, but they never left specific details. I do not own a fish and I need to know.
a) Is tap water ok to use, if not then what kind of water?
b) What should the temperature of the water be? (hot, warm, cool, cold)
c) is there anything else I need to know?
I have petsit fish that have filters so I know how to feed the fish, but I need advice on changing the water.
Thank you
