My dog won't stop barking, as soon as she is placed outside she barks at the wind and anything else she decides to bark at. She loses out at being outdoors because I can't take the barking. And I don't want to reward her by bringing her inside to hang out with the family when she does this PLEASE HELP US

I used to have a lab that "Annoyance" barked. He would bark at everything or if he was being ignored. Not a normal bark, but a really high pitched annoying bark.

The only thing that worked on him was a shock collar. It took exactly 2 shocks for him to learn. After being shocked, if he would start barking, all I had to do was SHOW him the collar and he would stop barking. Well worth the $79 it cost me for the collar!

There is a million and one different ways to get your dog to stop barking or limit the amount of barking. Unfortunately it all depends on the age of the dog. You can try squirting your dog with a spray bottle every single bark they let out and telling him/her with a stern voice they are bad. I don't think a muzzle would work for the simple fact that it will stop the barking on your end but as soon as you take it off the dog will start again, it's not teaching the dog anything. There is also those collars that everything the dog barks they get a little shock or a high pitch noise in their ears, which work really well, but the shocking one CANNOT be used on dogs under 10lbs, (will send them into cardiac arrest). You could try to take you dog to puppy school or doggy school for training. I hope these will help you and your dogs barking problem... Good Luck!

use a muzzle! seriously! It'll teach her that she does not like the muzzle! when she stops barking and you take it off her, she'll learn no barking, and she does not get muzzled! try the plastic bottle with dry peas method! bang the bttle of pes on the floor, when she starts to make noise! She won't like that noise, so will stop! these methods do take a number of days! There is no quick fix here!

Some will say a bark collar/shock collar is the best method! even so, the collar can take a few weeks! which is exactly the same as the two methods i have told you about!

i find the bark collar to be slightly cruel! I know, sometimes it's cruel to be kind, but ok lets traumatise our pets into submission!

Try the cheaper friendly alternative first!

or buy some ears plugs!

Buy a shock collar, and leave on for ten minutes at a time. And state quiet. After a day or so of short periods they will listen to the quiet command.

Obtain a good quality bark collar and learn how to use it properly. They can be very effective when other treatments fail, especially if you have neighbors that have rights.

Some dogs just don't want to be outside. I have others I can't get to come in and some that haven't got a clue what they want or what they are allowed to do so they run in and out.

How old is your dog? If she is old enough, and has the proper temperament, I would be glad to point you in the direction of the "quiet" command. You are right not to reward her bad behavior.

Best Wishes!
