The practice of breeding wolfdogs isn't new, but it's new enough and not popular enough to support mass puppy milling, furthermore the natural resilience required to live in the wild wolves posses seems to add weight to this hypothesis. Hip Dysplasia is very rare, though present, in wild wolves, however it is common in some domestic dogs. I also can't imagine that a mix from a reputable breeder would be afflicted with the mental and physical detriments brought on from millers and back yard breeders, so the question I pose, I think, is a valid inquiry.

Is it possible that wolfdogs represent a healthier, more resilient animal?

Why Can't I find a Home for this Kitten? Does it Look Ugly or Sick In the Pictures/Videos?
I recently set up a website aimed at rescuing and homing a number of kitties living on the street near my place. I rescued a nursing mom and have found a home for 1 of her 2 kittens, but no one is expressing an interest in the other one. I think she is gorgeous and don't understand it. It was hard to get her to sit still for good pics. Her pics are on the front page of my website and she also has a "kitten video clip"...please have a look and let me know if you think the pic is the problem? I also have a lot of adults (some that aren't all that friendly yet) and I can understand why it's hard to get them homes, but can't figure out why I can't get a real cute kitten a good home. Thanks

I have a female cat. She has been neutered. For the past six months she has been spraying round the house. Usually in corners but also on my fathers i mac monitor and on his laptop too. Also on the tv screen. She seems to go for stuff we use. Even recently in my toolbox.
How can i stop her doing this? are there any sprays to buy to put her off?
Any ideas why she is doing this in the first place.
I love my at but its driving me nuts!

he helped himself from the garbage bin
i found him chewing on used kleenex as usual, (which i dont like him to do) but this time there was gum in it and i didnt see him literally chewing on the gum, but the gum i remember from the gargbage bin wasnt there anymore either, so im pretty sure he chewed on it or ate it or something, so anyway, is this bad?

My dog is 7 years old, we got him from the spca a while back and just lately he seems to pee on places he's slept before. He's walked quite regularly and still does that. Just tonight he wanted on my moms bed and started peeing just as he got up there. That's the second time he's done that. He tends to do that on clothes as well. I live in an apartment and am not sure how to train him. He's half Pekinese, half cocker spaniel.

I have a 13 yr old kelpie cross which has a tumor and very sick. The vet knows about this. Is it possible to call the vet to come and put it to sleep? It is also too large to bury at home, what can i do? Can all of this be done while i'm at work as i don't want to see the suffering. How much does everything cost?

And what can I do to curb this new cat phenomenon? He is the most gorgeous thing otherwise, but has just started cornering, hissing and swiping at guests. I can't afford to keep up the bandaids!!

i have a 10week old chinchilla X himalayan
when she was about 7 weeks old i noticed she lost a patch of fur above her eye, and it had a little sore in it.
Its been 3 weeks and it still hasnt healed.
Could this be worms?
She was wormed before i got her.
What could it be?
I noticed she has lost a little patch of fur near her front claws too, but the skin is not broken.....whats the matter with her?

My kitten is around 6 months old and just recently started to vomit with a slightly bloody mucus. He hasn't wanted to play with his sisters, and is just laying around. I've removed him from anything that he could eat and I'm only providing him with water. It's 12:30 at night so I cant take him to a vet right now. But he's vomiting like every 30 min or so. He looks so miserable. Any ideas on how to make him feel better? Or what it could be?

My ferret had hairballs once before, and I think she may be getting them again even though I brush her often. How can I help her pass them instead of letting her go down the old route and lose weight/have diarhea for days before spitting them up and possibly choking?

Banning pit-bull-type dogs is not the answer ["Rein them in before they attack again," editorial, Nov. 9]. In 1991 when the United Kingdom banned pit bulls it was found that even after the pit bull population steeply declined, the number dog bite incidents remained the same. Why? The number of irresponsible dog owners stayed the same. The fact is that dog bites rarely happen randomly to people walking down the street. Most dog bites (77 percent) happen to a family member or a friend. The majority of bites are perpetrated by un-neutered male dogs.

i'm not sure but i think he got into a fight. he came home and he's really beat up. he has a scratch under his eye, but what really worries me is that all of his front claws have been ripped out. is there anything i can do for him (besides taking him to the vet)? i can tell he just isn't feeling well since he hasn't groomed himself and he is sleeping more than usual.

Would you give a former street cat a home?
I've recently set up a website aimed at getting some kitties that live on the street near my place into homes. It has live streaming video of the kitties needing homes at night, and my kitties in the day. For awhile I was getting a good response, but now it's quietened down, and I need to figure out how to get it happening again as I've already taken 3 months off work for the project and really need to get some of these kitties into forever homes! Ideas?? It's for a good cause...I"m paying for the desexing, vaccinations, aids & FelV testing etc.... the site is http://www.kittiesinthehood.com...
I have already adopted 8 myself, and really need help with the other 12!
