You need to get it to a wildlife rehab. What part of the world are you in that there are still baby birds around? It is not breeding season here in the US, it is winter. Do a search for a rehab in your area, or call a vet or the humane society that could lead you in the right direction. They usually have phone numbers for rehabs on hand.

You must be near of south of the equator to have a newly hatched baby at this time of the year.
I'm a wild bird rehabilitator so if you still have it I'll try to help you with it. We get over 1000 each baby season.
First of all, the person who told you about can scratch fever was correct. You've cleaned all the wounds with Betadine or physoderm, NOT hydrogen peroxide or alcohol right???
Next, give it one drop at a time warm Gatorade or apple juice or sugar water (1Tablespoon water 1/8 tsp sugar, pinch salt)
Next it should go into a container like a shoe box on paper towels. For hear put a light on it or heating pad on low under the box and a hand towel so it doesn't get too hot.
All depending on what it is and whether it has internal injuries do you even consider feeding it.
The person who suggested canned cat food was more correct than the rest. If it has no feathers on its stomach and you can see its digestive system, you can see if there is blood in the stomach. If there is, only give it Gatorade until you can get it to a rehabilitator.
Or if you can take a picture of the stomach area and email it to me, I should be able to tell and help you from there.

We did the same thing over the summer. I found a site,
http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww36e.htm.
We asked a lady at the petstore, and she told us she does it all the time. So we were told to use a tweezer and get canned cat or dog food (chicken) take little pieces dip it in water and drop in their mouth. When it gets a bit bigger start giving it worms (chopped up, Sammy loved meal worms for some reason) dipped in water and do the same thing. When it is starting to get to the age where it is foraging for food we were told to put dirt in the cage/enclosure and put worms in it (red worms are easier they are not as big). We however started taking Sammy (yes we named him/her, actually my son did) outside a few times a day and let it hop around, and soon enough it was getting its own worms. They one we cared for was a robin and they mainly eat insects, but other birds eat seeds and such. So you should find out what kind of bird it is. Good luck and take care of the sweetie. Sammy came around and hung out with us for a few months after we let him go. Havent seen him since it got cool out though.

Well baby birds need to be fed every couple hours...I would say if it hasn't already died on you you need to go to the pet store and buy zupreem formula mix it with water and warm it up and feed it with a syringe just a bit. If you don't know how to hand feed you will probly aspirate it and kill it if you don't pay attention to the crop right under its throat filling up with food, they only need a little bit. If the cat did indeed break the skin like someone said before its a matter of time before it dies! Good luck!

Go to the pet store that has birds and purchase their bird formula and feed every 3 hours with a syringe. Warm the formula slightly and feel the crop on the front of it's neck to be sure it is full. Good luck and I hope you are successful

cut up earth worms and use eyedropper to feed it. use eye dropper to feed it water also. the worms must be chopped up well though. baby birds eat alot so you will be getting up every copuple of hours and feeding him worms and water. keep him warm as he is used to having mom to keep him warm. good luck and merry christmas.
