We live in a resort area where family/friends want to come visit so they can ski etc.... We have 2 dogs and 1 cat and I can't believe how many people ask if they can bring their dogs with them. Is this me or is this rude? Like if my 3 pets isn't enough as is without my pets getting upset with a strange pet staying.

My dog is 6months old and she was badly abused, she was rescued from an abused shelter, She as low self esteem. How do I teach her not to lick me so much without letting her think she is in trouble and that a little is okay but not a complete bath.

My cat has a small mark near one side of her face near her whiskers. It looks like a boil but could be a bald patch as she is nearly 14 years old. I don't want to take her to the vet because she really hates it & it is very difficult fro both the cat & me to get her to & from the vets! It doesn't seem to bother her but I am a bit worried because she has had the mark a while now! Is it common for Cats to get get these sort of marks espically when they get old? She may have one on her paw as well & if it is the same I think she's had the mark on her paw ages!!??

I havent got much sleep since I got him, please help.

I know there's no specific "Best" breed of large dogs, as all have their pro's and con's.. But I'm looking for a good working-type large breed dog. Austrailian Cattle Dogs are too small for me - I was thinking about a 'Red' Golden Retriever, or possibly a Weimarainer, but I'm not sure. Any other breeds you guys would like to throw at me, and maybe why I should go with them? - By the way, Mastiff's are not for me. :) Too lazy. Thanks!

how long is a dog on heat?
How many days will she bleed?
Is it true that it is better to spay her before she goes into heat?
And is it true that they become more mature and calm after their first cycle, or I don't how how to call it
Thanks ;)

I have a Burmese cat that keeps going into our front room, where our good furniture is. It's an open room, so there is no door. I have done everything I can think of to keep him out, like giving him a swat, chasing him, squirting him with water, short of leashing him, but he keeps going in. I got him and his brother for my birthday last year, and I don't want to get rid of him. What else can I do?

I need a saddle that is extremely comfortable, but a reasonable price. I am considering these two, but I would appreciate it if you give me some suggestions. My price range is up to $300 (cheap, I know, but I'm a beginner.) I need a very balance saddle. Any good used saddle websites that I can look at?

I recently found a abonded baby kitten on thursday. Whom is severly mal-nutrished. The vet gave her nutri-cal..a concentrated paste filled with protien, fat, and all sorts of vitamins. He also gave pedalyte to mix with her kitten (KMR) milk. She was also given anti botics to take twice a day for 5 days. She went to the vet on early saturday morning.

She hasnt gone poop in a little over a day. She urnies normally. I've been massaging her belly and rubing her anus with a warm towel...as i was told works.

She hasnt gone yet and its making me worry! Can someone please give me some advice...until i can call her vet. what other things can i do to make her poop...why isnt she pooping, and how often should she poop daily. Shes 1 pound.

Thank you to all who have been helping me with all my kittens questions.

I am not sure if I should get one. I need to know the uglies about these birds. I know the good stuff.

I can tell you honestly I am not a good 'too owner. They're too much into everything. I don't want a parrot I have to chase around to see what trouble s/he is getting into. I don't mind some activity but 'toos just have waaay too much energy. I had a goffin's, that's how I know. I also had a grey and she suited me fine. I didn't have to worry too much with her as she preferred to just sit and watch me or talk. She was animated, don't get me wrong, she wasn't a stick parrot and she liked to play but not at all like the goffin's who was like a toddler on harley wheels...

I now own a MRH amazon (aka green cheek amazon) and he's somewhere in between the two. But he's 20 years old now...and I can't imagine all amazons are like him. Although I admit, he CAN be loud, that I expect from all parrots. Anyway, please give me the uglies of DYH's so I can see what I am getting into.
