These lizards need heating to about 85F and should have a UV lighting sytem as well. If you do not heat it up very soon it will die.
PLease do some more research as to keeping condition for this lizard. The person that sold it to you should have told you how it should be kept.

Chameleons are in climates that range from 68-85. If cold blooded animals are not given the proper temperatures (as well as humidity), they will not be able to metabolize properly.

If your chameleon looks like he's sleeping all the time, it's not good. Chameleons are slow, but active and alert creatures. A basking light is a necessity with a chameleon so that they can regulate their internal temperature. A chameleon should be in a well ventilated enclosure with one area under a basking light, and a way to get away from the light if he needs to. They also need misting a few times a day. If you're not using UV lighting you should make sure to use vitamin supplements that have calcium and vitamin D3. Repcal and Herpvite are my recommendations for a complete vitamin compliment.

Good luck

It shouldn't get that cold. They are not an animal that hibernates. They naturally live in a climate that does not get cold enough for the animals to hibernate.
You need a heat source (not a hot rock) for him.

its not cold in a chameleon's habitat so that means they don't hibernate, like any reptile their systems slow down in the cold. Buy heat lamps for him.

yep they re reptiles that means coldblooded animals they slowdown because their metabolism slowsdown in the cold ,so u gotta give him some sort of artificial heating say an under gravel heater or atleast a 60watt bulb on top of his space, make sure the bulb stays clear of him or he stays clear of the bulb.

When it's cold, his entire system slows down. You need to regulate the temperature in his environment or you're going to kill him.

They do not Hybernate, they are in a tropical climate in the wild.
