It's hard to tell without seeing the mark. But could it be a growth?
My cat had what looked like a boil on the side of mouth - the fur had gone from that bump and it was like greyish in colour.
I took him to the vets fairly soon and they decided to have it removed - so he had to have an operation and the growth was malignant but it has never returned, another of my cats had a similar thing on his ear and that was removed too.
Your cat is getting on at 14 years - you should be taking him to the vets every six months anyway for check ups at that age.
So my advice is to take him - I know it's a load of hassle and the cat gets all distressed but you just can't take any chances with pets - if it is something harmless at least you will be reassured and can stop worrying about it.

My 8 yr old male neutered has a small bald spot on the left whisker-side of his face. Doesn't bother him and I think he got it from a bee sting some years back. If the "mark" on your cat's face is obviously not an abcessed wound or boil with pus inside or ringworm and your cat doesn't seem to be bothered by it, then don't worry.

Take your cat to the vet. If you had something like a boil on your face you'd probably go to the doctor. Treat your cat the right way and get it checked out.

I'm not really sure about your description. A boil is a raised lump and is painful and doesn't match your description of 'small mark'.
If I were you I would watch it and if it changes or grows etc you know it will need attention.
Some vets offer a home visit service so check if you could arrange that.

I understand you because it is very difficult and stressful to take my cat to the vet. If phone consultation won't be enough, make a photo in macro format and show it to your vet. Good luck.

if you love your cat you will take her to the vet. It may be stressful but it is more important to know what your dealing with rather than wondering about it. You could also try a visiting vet, it does cost more but it may be worth it.

u could take pictures of the mark and go to a vet and show it to him/her
it would prevent the stressful trip with u'r cat to the vet
i'm not sure but it just might work.

our cat ten years old has the same marks. the fur on the front of the face is very thin and you can see the skin. they rub their face on things to mark them as theirs. they have sent glands there. don't worry I'm sure your cat is fine but just keep an eye on her.
