My cat saved my daughters life when she was five months old. We lived in an apartment with a large patio door. I had her swinging by the door to see outside and my cat ran around the room and up the wall just in time for me to see the car coming towards the patio. I yanked her out and got as far back as I could in the room.
They may not know exactly what is wrong but they know when its not right.

I would say that God reached out to you, before you committed the unforgivable sin, through your cat. Often we ask God for a sign, and He obviously helped you.
Remember, life always gets better and God promises not to give us too much to handle.
If you are depressed or stressed out, go to the doctor. There are so many great prescrips now that can just take the edge off, lessen the stress, lessen the sadness. You may have a chemical need in your body, one that is affecting you in ways you can't see right now. Confide in your doc.
Also, surely you can look back on a time in your life, that seemed horrible. A death, a heartbreak? When you thought that you would never smile again, never feel truly happy again? Well, that is a life lesson. Things always doooooo get better. Im often reminded of an Oprah where this woman went out for a walk. While gone, her ex came and murdered her children, then himself. I can't imagine coming back from that. But she has. She saved a lot of lives with her story. Because life does go on, it does get better. There will be hard times, terrible times, for sure. But enjoy a sunset. A chat with a dear relative. A game of Pictionary with family. A good song or a good movie. Life is full of good times. Or you can make them. Get away from whatever it is that is pulling you down. Pray. God is waiting to hear from you.

All animals know when something is going to happen and your cat knew you were going to do something you would probably regret. It was either coincidence or luck. You decide which one. You should thank your cat and the lord that you did not get hurt.

It sounds lovely, but most cats would lay on anything that you put on the sofa. They're brilliant obstructionists. :)
Please seek counseling for your suicidal tendencies. There's a lot of help out there and you're worth it.
