i have a 10week old chinchilla X himalayan
when she was about 7 weeks old i noticed she lost a patch of fur above her eye, and it had a little sore in it.
Its been 3 weeks and it still hasnt healed.
Could this be worms?
She was wormed before i got her.
What could it be?
I noticed she has lost a little patch of fur near her front claws too, but the skin is not broken.....whats the matter with her?

Worms are one possible problem. The other could be an absess. cats outer skin heals really quickly which is good, However.... it can also close over and seal in bacteria. area gets swollen and heats up. the hair can fall out from the heat of the infection(it will grow back). usually an absess will come to a head and pop. either way, parasites or an absess, it sounds like you need to take her to a vet.. In the mean time keep an eye on her. make sure she eats but more important that she drinks fluid. Also watch that she doesn't get constipated. If you notice a swelling you can put hot (warm careful not to burn her) packs on the spots. this helps bring an absess to a head... But..... If it is an absess she will need to get antibiotics. Soo... go to the vet as soon as it is possible. (non emergency, unless she quits eating and pooping and peeing..)

I don't think that it's from fleas (you would usually notice scabs on the neck and rump areas first). It is VERY common for long haired cats/kittens to be ringworm carriers. Since the origional spot is still there and now a new spot has errupted, this is fairly likely. This is not a big deal and can be treated easily, but may take 3 to 6 weeks. The only way to know for sure is for the vet to examine your kitten.

balding in any animal is more often than not a parasite problem. Take her to the vets as soon as possible. Even if she was wormed there is still a chance she has them. Good luck.

Skin parasites and infections, allergies, nutrition, organ function, blood flow, hormones, topical medications, and behavior all influence hair growth and hair loss.

I personally think it's fleas and she's scratching at them and losing hair and causing sores from the irritation.
