Your rat probably has a respiratory problem. Mine had this problem, and died 1 week later. I'd take her to a vet to get something to help this. It could be a disease called "Mycoplasma Pneumonia" which is a potentially deadly and highly contagious (among rats only) respiratory infection rats are prone to.
Look for wet (snot like) reddish spots around her eyes and nose (another indication of advanced Mycoplasma Pneumonia.)
Good luck, I hope everything works out!

Hello, I have owned and bred rats for 8 years.
A rat will not normaly sneeze unless something is wrong. Is your rat is old? (2 to 4 years) if your rat has a red discharge on his nose and around his eyes, these would be signs of a respritory infection. Is your rats cage free of amonia? Amonia is toxic for any animal to breath, this may cause sneezing and red sore eyes. Is the rat being keped in a draft free location? A cold drafty room may cause your animal to get sick as well. I have Lost 2 pet rats from respritory infection, it is nearly impossable to cure, unless you catch it early. It is very common in the older rat, but all rats can get it. I would talk to a vet, but for now make sure to keep your pet in a warm location, clean its cage if it smells, make sure it gets fluid. Read the links if you want more information. Hope your rat gets better soon! (=

Rats, just like all animals, are susceptible to airborne allergens, such as dust and dander. Perhaps relocating your rat's cage or tank away from an open window or ceiling air vent will cure its current sneezing problem.
If your rat has been sneezing for the entire time you have had it, perhaps taking it to a Veterinarian in necessary. Or call the store where you purchased the rat and inquiry if any of their other rats are also sneezing and if they know any remedies for your rat's problems.

Rats can have respiratory problems. I had a little one that came to me sick. The vet gave me meds to give to her with a syringe. They fixed her up right as rain. But, she would still occasionally sneeze. When she did, it would sometimes spatter on the side of her cage and look like there was a little bit of blood in it. But, there wasn't. And like they've already said, you need to be careful of the type of bedding. And a cage that is open is best, NOT a glass aquarium.

I myself have rats...there are alot of reasons as to why it could be sneezing....
it could be the bedding you are using, some rats can be allergic to shavings....I always use corn cob...my rats dont seem to mind it
Also, it could be that your rat could have a cold...it is expensive to take your rat to the vet, but that is a possibility....
I have a female rat who sneezes when she is cold....try putting some old material in the cage with her, for added warmth...
You could also look into her food variety....there is a possibility that she might be allergic to corn...I have one that I have on a special diet because of a corn allergy...
Good Luck...

Change her bedding. Newspaper is best but that recycled bedding is pretty good. If you are using cedar chips, the moisture causes very irritating fumes. Pine isn't as bad but it still isn't great.

If their is no discharge from her nose then something in her environment could be irritating her.
