I have had guinea pigs and that is the most exotic I have had. I have helped the occasional hurt turtle, but only kept them long enough to take them to the vet. I was just curious to know what other people had.

My mom has a lab with fairly long nails. I trip the tips every month...but they grow faster than I can trim. I am afraid of trimming shorter because I don't want to hurt him or make him bleed.

If a red eared slider is pregnant how long before she is ready to lay her eggs. She has been spending alot of time out of the water under the heat lamps and I was told this is a sign of pregnancy. She very rarely ever came out of the water before but then I got acouple of male turtles and now she comes out of the water for several hours at a time.

I use baking soda wipes on her weekly and clean her ears regularly. She is still smelly. I bath her every two months and don't want to bath her more than that. It doesn't seem good for her to do it more than that...but it isn't good for anyone else when I don't do that.

I am talking about animal communication like in the show the Pet Psychic (Not teaching a dog signs and symbols etc.) Do you think you can mentally communicate with your animal? Have you done this?

Dogs are not humans they are animals just like a horse or cow....

Please be patient for more details read about my question about the wolf-hybrid you know me as laelanure and please keep your bats down and no need for strait jackets. Actually I could care less who thinks I am a freak each but I just need to know if things like my story has ever happened before. See, ever since I learnt that I was the only one who could approach a strange wolf-hybrid I have been asking myself is this a common occurrence. I am beginning to realize at times asking the question is much harder than the answer and I am at his point now. In a nutshell is it a common occurence? I have tried finding information on the internet after my experience and it has happened twice. My best friend in JRH made the comment to me when her wolf-hybrid literally came to me and licked my hand that she never saw him act like that before. "He hates strangers it's the wolf in him." My cuz told me that he growled at her and she's better with dogs than I am.

I've got 5 cats in our home. Of late, one or two of them had decided to start using the carpet instead of the litter box, I guess to indicate that the condition of their box wasn't suitable for them (it was completely changed once a week). So I decided to switch to the clumping cat litter and it's worked great, no more messes and the babies are happy. However, we have one kitty with diabetes and his back legs don't work as well as the others. The clumping cat litter is getting stuck to his back paws and we can't find an easy solution to remove it, without causing him distress. The litter won't "wash off" very easily, obviously because of the way the clumping cat litter works. Has anyone else had this problem and knows of a good solution? We've only switched over a week or 10 days ago, but I want to get this under control before he gets in distress.

I STILL haven't figured it out yet... which sounds best?

1. cory cats and gouramis
2. cory cats and barbs
3 cory cats and angelfish
4. cory cats and ____________________ fill in the blank

I don't want mollies, guppies, or platies or tetras or any fish that is common... I want a DIFFERENT tank...not a tank full of cheap common fish that die quickly even with good care.

Or should it be just a bottom feeder tank? What would you do with a thirty gallon?

However my father is an asthamatic and is allergic to dogs which shed hair so Im looking at breeds with minimum maintenance and who do not mind spending time alone in the yard or the kennel (as the yard is fenced there will be no need to chain the dog.)A loyal breed which is good with elderly people at the same time intimidating to strangers. Ive heard of a local breed called the "rajapalayam" which is supposed to be good if trained well (however this a sight hound ), am also considering the following breeds , german shepherd , boxer , great dane and the labrador , pls tell me what breed you think would be the best to look after my Dads house and still be a good enough companion for small walks around the country side. We have owned dogs before but they were mixed breed , this is the first time we are looking at pure breds , the average temp. where i stay (Kerala) is around 35 deg. C (HOT) and its quite humid and sweaty , also we have rain showers approximately 6 months of the year.

We have a cross Labrador/Golden Retriever puppy. She is 16 weeks old and is still really biting us HARD!!!!!!

We have tried spraying her in the face with water, smacking her nose, telling her NO in a loud voice and even holding her down on the floor until she calms down (although this sometimes makes her worsse).

She also has a habit of rolling over onto her back if you touch her collar to put her lead on. Then she refuses to get up. Any ideas???????

please help because I love her when she is calm but when she goes into a mental state she is quite frightening. I don't know whether she will just grow out of this and not to worry too much or should we take it very seriously?

Thanks to you all.

My dog got lost last week and (after a great deal of stress and tears) I picked him up from the City Dogs Home the next day. Then last night I had to take him to the vet because he'd been coughing, was listless, off his food and had a snotty nose. She gave me some antibiotics for him and said he'd picked up "kennel cough" during his overnight stay at the Home. I know he'll be okay (still poorly today) but I would like to know more about it.

And everyone wish my Scrappy a speedy recovery!
