Yesterday morning my niece was bitten by a stray cat in the neighborhood, and this cat has no records of any type of shots or inuclations, so the animal shelter was called and trap was put out to capture this cat.

My niece had to undergo several painful shots for prevention of rabies. One of her neighbors told her she was inhumane for setting a trap.

So what I'm asking was or is she wrong for having this pet isolated from the neighborhood and potentially having this animal put to sleep if he is a carrier.

How easy is it to look after a dog with cushings disease??

I have an 11 year old female yorkie who has just been diagnosed with it.

Answers from owners whose dogs have it, no links please as i have read up on it already. What have your experiences been like? Thanks

I have a now 4 year old blk and white male chihuahua. He's considered obese because he weighs about13-15 lbs. His personality is very scared and shaky. If he wants to protect from something like another animal he'll run about 30ft. away and then bark at it. He ocassionally wrestles with his buddies which are a toy poodle, cavalier king charles spaniel, miature schnuazer, golden retriever, and a boxador(that's just what my dad calls it, he's a half boxer half labrador)

Anyway after i give my dog a bath and dry him off he goes crazy! not bad crazy though. he just starts running around the house jumping off of the walls basically and playing and having fun with every animal he comes in contact wtih. After about half an hour he's back to normal.

IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HIM?

almost 2 years ago my father in law passed away and we inherited his little aussie, bandit. this has been 1 very depressed little dog. no interest in anything. he lived alone with dad for almost 11 yrs. we're getting ready to buy a house with existing pens for chickens, ducks, geese. i know the aussies need to be kept busy busy, but is he too old (about 13) to handle a little flock of something if we were to get him some. i'm looking for anything to stir the life back into him. i know about "doggy prozac" and i've already discussed it with my vet. he's only 13 and his physical health is great. his mental health is my concern. we have to coax him to eat. he hasn't wiggled his "tail" since dad died. i don't think my husband can handle losing this dog right now. he promised his dad he'd take care of him.

Well, my Fox Terrier/Jack Russell cross was bitten on the ear this morning by one of our three larger dogs(completely out of character I don't know what happened) It was bleeding quite badly but my dad put some flour on the wound to absorb the blood and it stopped soon after. However, the wound still looks quite nasty, should I take him to the vet asap? Is it likely it will become infected? Our vet holds a pet clinic on saturday mornings would that be too long to wait? Any advice welcome

Recently my rabbit was lying down beside the fire (as she always does!) when my younger sister picked up a candle from the fireplace and accidently spilt some runny candlewax on top of my bunny. She was fine and didn't seem distressed but now she has candlewax on her fur and I don't know how to get it off! I tried with my fingers and a nit comb but the fur started coming out. Can anyone recommend anything that will take the wax off safely? Thanks!

HI,

I have a. fish tank with balloon mollies, a fighter, one guorami, one kisser, a few cat fish, a couple of gobys, some hatchets, one ram, shrimps and apple snails. Apart from a bit of white spot (which is clearing up) the fish are healthy. I had a elephant nose fish that lasted for only two days in there, so i decided to get a test kit that tests the water fro everything. WEll the test kit showed the water conditions were perfect except for high alkaline readings. Does anyone know if this will affect t the fish and is there anything that can be done to reduce them (i don't really want to use chemicals in the tank)

This is a recent problem. She is a 3yr old Golden Retriever. She doesn't do it all the time(never if someone is home), but the problem is becoming more frequent.
