I adopted my little terrier (Sparky) from Animal Welfare when he was 3 months old. At the time I had a labrador and miniture maltese. In April this year my labrador passed away from Adisons desease, and my maltese 3 weeks ago from old age. She was 15. Since then my 7 year old terrier wont let me out of his sight. If I go to the loo, he is behind me. If I walk around the house he is behind me. When I go out he seems fine, but when I come he screeches at the top of his voice, and it is driving us nuts. any suggestions. I love him to pieces and am not a disciplinarian at all.

I am enquiring about a Labrador puppy. The lady that is seling the puppy asked me whether I wanted a registered puppy or not.

What is the difference between a registered puppy and a non-registered puppy?

I am getting the puppy from a registered breeder.

Labrador is for a family pet ONLY. Not going to be shown or bred at all.

Is it better to get a registered puppy or doesn't it matter?

How much does registration cost?

Just this morning I woke up with a cat beside my bed. Got in through the window I think. We decided to keep her. She is sweet and comes when I call her and always follows me wherever I go. I was just wondering if I could teach her tricks like dogs do? She seems pretty smart. I saw her lying on the sofa and I called her because we don't want her lying there and she got off. If it is possible to train cats how do you do it? thanks

I have a 14yo old mare expecting a foal soon. She was supposed to be due around March but I suspect she will drop it much earlier as she is EXTREMELY heavy! I have worked on Thoroughbred stud farms etc before but this is my first foal I am breeding myself, so I would like ANY tips, suggestions and things to watch out for from any other people who have bred horses before. Like does she need special feeding, or will she do fine on her normal rations? When should I take her rugs off? Should I separate her from her best friend (another, much older mini mare). Also any other helpful tips. The weather here is really hot as well. (I'm in Australia)

My mum's mini-foxie dog can put his head underwater to retrieve things - usually food. We did a little experiment using a bit of food and a container of water to see if our other dogs could stick their head underwater to get the bit of food. None of them could except Duke. Even if there is a muddy puddle of water with something floating on the top, he has to get it out. Its soooo cute because little bubbles come out of his nose.

I have a miniature horse yearling colt and I can't get him to respect the electric fences because he has such a thick coat, but I can't erect permanent wire fences either as this is a rental property. I was considering clipping him all over so he feels the zap stronger and learns to respect the hot wire, but I don't want his mane growing back thicker afterwards.

Please keep in mind that I live in Australia and we have VERY hot weather at the moment, so he definitely won't miss his thick winter coat if I clip it anyway.

I got a 3 month old J. R on Sunday & she had a bad ceizure today. Scared me sooooo bad. She is the sweetest. I have a J.R/Beagle mix & have had no problems with him, except him being overly hyper (Just makes me love him more). So my question is , can these ceizures be prevented & if so , how? Thank you in advance to anyone that takes the time to answer my question. Debra Lynn

My cat is quite strange. He licks all kind of plastic, even bottles with potentially toxic things in it. He also pees into boxes if he likes to, he even did that when I was sitting in front of him. But I don't think he's too stupid to understand what he's doing, because he can for example open doors closed doors and the food bin.

Is my cat a psycho?

It's one of those toys that hang inside the cage on a chain, with some rope and wooden toys and a bell. There are two areas of this toy that he pukes/spits on, and then he seems to pack it down with his beak. It's almost like he's building something. I think some wild birds do this with mud?? He seems fine other than this. There are no signs that he chewed on this toy, it's fairly new. The cage is on my desk and when I open his door and he sits in the opening and talks but he doesn’t come out, so he hasn't gotten into anything. He has a good diet with fresh fruit and vegies, gravel, cuddle bone, ect. This isn't normal, is it????
One thing I found that he likes is when I slide my sneakers on the kitchen floor when I’m walking and they make that loud squeaking noise. My bird and my sneakers sound exactly alike, but the bird is louder.
