Conjunctivitis.Very painful for the cat as its eyes sting as if they had been rubbed with sand paper. This needs antibiotics urgently as is highly catching (even by owner) and can cause blindness! Take your kitten to the vet immediately.

Your best bet is to take it to a vet. Does kitten have fever, eyes bulging, off its feed, runny bowel movement, fur getting tattered looking, not real active, sneezing? Any of these get to vet now!! Otherwise try washing by using a soft cotton cloth that is lint free wet with clean warm water. First hold cloth to eye for a time to soak caked on gunk. Then gently (no pressing) dab off gunk til no more is left. Pressing can cause blindness, and collapse their nasal system, killing them. Long haired cats and Persians especially seem to get eye troubles.. Some causes of conjunctivitis can be as simple as,...litter flying when covering up mess and gets into eyes, resulting in conjunctivitis, allergies,Rhino viruses like FRV FCV, or their inner eyelid is not formed correctly. No matter, Do Not use any meds left over!!! Wrong script can cause even more harm, and if using a liquid form more than 14 days old has started to change its value and become something completely different. They do not just lose strength from age,as most think. Besides you may need a topical ophthalmic ointment like one containing tetracycline's , or use Lysine to go with it. Do not use home remedies likea boric acid wash! If kitten is 2-6 and even 8 wks o ld, it may just be shedding the protective gunk left over from their eye opening.

You're using BABY WIPES around your kitten's EYES? STOP! You're probably stinking the hell out this poor kitten's eyes. You could also end up making it go blind. You're wrong that "Persian kiuttens are known to have tear duct problems." Only POORLY BRED backyard breeder ones do. I have both a Persian and an Exotic Shorthair and neither has "tear duct problems". Eye Envy is a product you can use to help with tear staining but if this kitten's eyes are constantly tearing it needs to be seen by a vet. Odds are it's so horribly bred that it may need corrective surgery. Where'd you buy this kitten? Craiglist?

There are several methods to improve quickly and naturally eye sight.
To know how to do that you can find here a complete method based on researches done by some scientist, for a cheap price ( http://getyourvisionbacknow.keysolve.net )

I can give you just some tips but I suggest to give a look to the method that i posted above, for example you can take more food that contains vitamin A such as carrots may help to naturally improve your eye sight.
We can also always do exercises. There are exercises such as rolling your eyeball to form an invisible square that are always recommended by the doctors to improve one's eyesight.
I don't know about quickly as there is no fast way to reach one's goal.

Vegetarians can help to improve one's eye sight. I believe it because I am a vegetarian and my eye short-sightedness power remains the same without any increase after about 2 years.
The doctor was shocked because teenagers at my years will usually have a most increase since we are always watching TV, playing computers and also reading.
I do not know whether it is totally true or not but it does affect a bit on the result.

AARRRGGGHH Amoxycillin is a broad spectrum antibiotic and will not help your cat. You need a topical antibiotic, and probably a baytril antibiotic, plus an anti-inflammatory....expensive stuff only a vet can help with...My advice is try cold tea. I kid you not, the tannin really helps combat eye infections, as an owner of 18 felines I reach for the tea long before the phone for the vet!!
You need to put a tea bag into warm water and let it steep until the water is cold, remove the tea bag and apply gently to the infected eye with cotton wool, wipe in one direction (inside to outside) and use one sweep only, throw the cotton wool away and repeat with a fresh piece of cotton wool. (not discarding after a sinfle use can spread infection.
Good luck

I have a solid persian and when I first adopted her her eyes were terrible.

Persian cats frequently have tear staining, partly because their tear ducts are kinked and partly because their eyeball shape prevents effective drainage. Chronic tear overspill causes a brown staining on the fur which is most noticeable in pale colored cats. My persian is pure white so it is very noticeable.

My vet was treating her for conjunctivitis for weeks and yes they did get slightly better but the eye itself was a weird colour, cloudy in fact. I wasnt happy with the diagnosis and her her treatment so I demanded they did extra tests and the outcome was glaucoma. Glaucoma is abnormally high pressure in the eye. Inside a normal eye there is constant production and drainage of a watery fluid called aqueous humor. When there is a problem with the drainage of this fluid, the pressure within the eye can increase. High pressure causes damage to the optic nerve, which, in turn, causes vision loss. Causes of glaucoma can be primary (spontaneous) or secondary.

Without a complete diagnosis from your vet then im afraid you are risking the sight of your cat's eyes. Go to your vet asap, im sure even just by looking at them he could tell you what the problem is and prescribe treatment.

The cloudy eye sounds pretty serious..go get it checked out.

Let me know of the outcome.
Linda

The kitten needs to be seen by the vet.(all new kittens/puppies should be anyway even if there is no problems. It is wise to get them into a vet within 72 hours of purchase).Do NOT give ANY medication to this kitten that has not been particuallrly prescribe for the kitten. You could be giving the wrong dose, the wrong medication, wrong medication for the problem (not all URI are treated with amoxi). It is VERY UNSAFE to give a med to a pet that was prescribed for another pet.You could kill your kitten!!!!

Sometimes there are tiny mites that come into all kittens from the mother. bathe the eyes with pre-boiled and cooled water. see a vet who will give you a cream for this. you might also find that the kitten also has worms from the mother, a normal reaction most of my cats had both as kittens, comes from the mother's milk and the mother licking the kittens. will clear up with a little help. but ask the vet for both, the kitten is to young for normal worming tabs.

Hello there, how are you? maybe ring the person you got your kitten off. I have an exotic persian, and their eyes do get gunky because their eyes are so big and protrude a little. Just give it a clean with some water and a small amoutn of salt dissolved, and maybe get to your vet at your convience. good luck with it, persians are a fantastic breed.

Your vet should be able to give you a solution to wash the eye with. You can also help by using a cotton bud in sterilised water (boil water then pour into mug. Let it go cold before applying to cotton bud!!) and using this to help clean your cats eyes and around the edges.
