I was wondering what kind of bit I should use. My horse has a tender mouth but needs a little more control than a plain snaffle offers. I'm using a slow twist full cheek snaffle right now, and would like to go to a milder bit. Any suggestions? ( i ride jumpers fyi)

About a few weeks ago I noticed something wrong with my 1 year old MinPin. At birth she had her tail docked and her dew claws removed. I noticed a knot where her dew claw would have been on her right paw. I have since kept an eye on it and it seems to have gotten bigger and is a little red. She doesn't seem to be in pain but i worry if it will be a problem later. When I feel the bump it feels exactly like a claw but it is under the skin. Is there any advice anyone has before I rush to the vet?

I have a rusty (red) Doberman male that is 12 months; Killer is our guard dog at my car lot. Can anyone out there
share their insights into is age. Is it too late? Contact a vet today, schedule the cropping for 12/8. Going to do me research on the vet and on the whole procedure. Will appreciate if you are a vet, or if you work with a vet.

Any one can recommend the "Best" vet in the bay area to do this.

I don't know about this question or even why people would make dogs such as the pitbull or the rottweiler , or other fighting breeds fight in dog pits. I think the onwer that do this should be looked up and never allowed to own another dog again. Cause it not only bad for the dogs but it is very dangerous for communities. once you take a dog lets just for example a bullmastiff and make it fight to the death then you have created a franstein monster on four legs. Listen I owned a pitbull and I know that they are for the most part gentle until either you raise it to be a fighter or the dog has problems with its hip. As for rottweilers well they are pretty much the same it is how you raise them but if want any breed of dog that was once breed to fight to be a family dog you have to start when they are very young and stay on them every minunte. Any answers or anyone that agrees with my statement feel free

I have a large and hyper 9 month old puppy, and I might be taking my friends 10 year old cat. (I cant have him if the 2 dont get along) How can I best introduce them so they get along or atleast give each other space? Also I dont know if this makes a difference but my dog is being crate trained (his crate is the kitchen with HUGE dog gates up) so he spends his time in there unless someone is around to supervise him or he is going to bed. (sleeps in a different bedroom than mine which is where the cats stuff would be)

Why is it that my Lab mix makes sneezing noises everytime I get down to her level (on the floor) to play with her? She puts her butt in the air, front paws out in front of her, tail wagging fiercely, playful look on her face, but then she shakes her head and makes these sniffly sneezy sounds. It's only when she plays with people though, and not with our other dog.

Is it some form of playful communication? She's not really sneezing, it's almost like a snort...

Hi,

Today my grandfather purchased some Pygmy Goats, and none of us know much about them. We purchased mom and baby along with another baby who does not belong to her. Okay my questions are: How long do they live?
How old are they when you consider them adults? When do you wean the young? Can they whelp okay? How long before they give birth from the time of breeding? How old do you breed them? Do they have heat cycles or do they just get pregnant at anytime? After they have babies how long before they can breed again at the minium? just give us some info about these goats.
See after we bought mom he said he bred her to a billy and its been about a month since and she looks fat like shes preg. So i really need to know this. Oh also when is a male goat able to father litters?

I want to give her treats for pottying outside. Some looked like choking hazards and some just looked unappealing. If someone has a puppy and knows of a treat my puppy would LOVE, it would be appreciated. BTW, I will be picking the puppy up on Christmas Eve and I am trying to get everything together and be prepared!

I've been trying to adopt a dog and have tried with different animal shelters. I fill out their "application" on line and they don't respond for months!!?? Then...by that time ...the dog I'm interested in, is dead or gone. They don't list their phone numbers or addresses so I can't drop in. It's like they don't want to adopt them out? Any Rescue People that can answer why? I know their busy, but I'd think they'd have someone assigned to responded to the applications so they can adopt them out.
