Okay we just got a puppy about 3 months ago so I have everything fresh on my mind! First off the most thing that you need to prepare for is whining and whimpering for a good month or so. And most of the time it wont stop for a good hour until they cry themselves to sleep. What we did was we bought a crate and a large crate meant for labs. The small one for at night and small trips to and from the vet. The big cage for when we need to put her up ( if company is coming over etc.) and also for when we have to leave the house we always put her in her large crate so she has room to walk around, play and there is room for food and water. Next thing is when placing the puppy in the crate they whine a lot like i stated above. I would place your puppy in a room that will be quiet because any little sound will wake it up and it will start whining again. Also you need to potty train it which wasnt too bad, right now she is six months old and she has the hang of it pretty well. they are very energetic and need to be constantly looked after and played with to get their energy out so they will sleep through the night. Okay, we got our puppy leash, collar, muzzle ( punishment for nipping), crate, large cage, plenty of toys of different sizes and shapes and textures ( baby toys work great) and puppy food, food bowls etc. Oh also we got her a really tiny bed for when she was tiny and we got her a larger bed since she is getting bigger. But you could just use a blanket if you wanted. Brushes are nice to have hand since she has a lot of fur but your dog may not need to be brushed if it is short haired. We do bathe her every now and then when she gets smelly. That is pretty much everything. And only let the puppy outside ( touch grass) when it is fully vaccinated or it could catch a disease from other dogs and such and could easily die from it. Just a word of caution...I hope you have a good time with your puppy they are a great joy to have and they are very loving. I hope this helped. Bye! and one last thing: try to be PATIENT with your puppy.

Some the many supplies you will need are coller, dog tag for identification, leash, food and water bowls, dog food, and defiantly some chew toys. You don't want to find some of your shoes all chewed up now. You will have to expect to be really patient with the puppy and make sure you are able to give it plenty of attention. The most difficult part usually is potty training. But as long as you do it as soon as possible you should have no problem. Take it out at least every 2 hours to potty and right after it eats. Good luck with the puppy!

This is an excellent resource site for Boxers

I just love this breed :) I haven't had one but one of my friends breeds them and they are such wonderfully sucky dogs. They are "puppies" for a lot longer than most dogs and they love toys.

I would suggest you get some bitter apple spray and use it on all electrical cords and table legs so the puppy doesn't start chewing on things that are unacceptable. If the puppy starts to chew, give it a piece of ice. That'll numb it's sore gums and give it something fun to chase around the house for a while.

A crate is always a good idea.
Here's a good article on boxer puppies and crates

Good luck and have fun :)

lol we had a white boxer puppy for 7 months, then i had a baby and she was just too much. what to expect...well you need a lot of patience and they are very hyper dogs and ive been told by a few people that have had boxers all their life that they pretty much stay that way. i love boxers but you just have to be willing to put alot into them. they are great dogs though if trained right :)

You should expect to learn what it is to be a Mother.

Early morning wake-ups
Separation from siblings
Toilet training
Attachment and Bonding

If you are not prepared to follow through with a life long commitment at this time..do not "get" the puppy...they are the same as infants, and in this case you don't have to worry about "delivery".

Sincerely,
Mister

kennel, treats, collar, leash, puppy food, water and food bowls and a couple of toys.

expect potty accidents, but this will get better as pup gets older.

expect to laugh a lot and be prepared to fall in LOVE!

expect some frustration, but know training doesn't last forever.

expect a true friend in your pet... never questions you, never talks about you, always loyal and always glad to see you... will listen when you need em to..... you get the picture.

enjoy your new pal.

Be Blessed!

have fun and get a crate because it is eaiser to housebreak them if you have one. don't give into pupppy eyes because if she/he gets used to it they willl try to become more controlling. my friend got a puppy boxer three years ago and it wasn't even supposed to be let into the house but after using the puppy eye for 3 months she suddly had a whole couch to herself...

whatever you do please do not me his/her ears pop up, it's so much cuter when they are floppy
