About a few weeks ago I noticed something wrong with my 1 year old MinPin. At birth she had her tail docked and her dew claws removed. I noticed a knot where her dew claw would have been on her right paw. I have since kept an eye on it and it seems to have gotten bigger and is a little red. She doesn't seem to be in pain but i worry if it will be a problem later. When I feel the bump it feels exactly like a claw but it is under the skin. Is there any advice anyone has before I rush to the vet?

Well, no need to rush her to the vet, but you should make an appointment soon. a bit of the bone may be causing a cyst.or an infection, .so the sooner it is cared for the less problem it will cause..and cheaper it will be.

If it isn't supposed to be there then something is wrong-since a little red it may be infected. I don't think a need to drop all right away and rush to emergency vet but do need to take asap.attempted a search but couldn't find anything specific. Could be several things-Callous,Tumor no way to tell without seeing but again if its not supposed to be there or not sure what it is the to be safe nees to be examined by a vet and wouldn't wait more than a day or two for if tumor early detection is very important. Good Luck

For the cost of a vet visit I would go. If it is something more and it gets infected you go from vet visit $40 to $500, I would choose the $40 and be sure it is nothing

I would advise you to take her to the vet cause that could be a tumor or an infection that needs to be looked at and maybe some meds,, better to be safe then sorry cause like one of the other answers said I would rather pay 35.00 to 40.00 for a check up then pay a 500.00 vet bill if you let it go to long,,, my Min Pin had got an infection on his chin and it was really red and had bumps on it and the vet said that he had to have atibiotics to clear it up and im glad i took him in then cause the vet said if i would have waited then they would have had to put him under to lance it and im glad i did cause that all it was was just an infection but if i would have waited then it would have cause more pain for my boy and more money for me,,, so just to be safe make an appointment tomorrow and have it looked at,,, I hope this helps and hope your girl is going to be ok im sure she will but you need to get her in to have that looked at

I wouldn't rush her to the vet, but maybe she is due soon to get booster shots? If she is I would ask the vet about it then. Or if it seems to be bothering her a lot or looking worse, go ahead and take her in to be checked.

it truly is the incorrect position to ask for pro suggestion. You do understand that a sturdy majority of people, the following, are kids who imagine they comprehend all of it.. Why do you not have get entry to to a vet? I easily does not be on my computing gadget if my dogs were both bleeding. i must be on a thanks to a vet's, in spite of the indisputable fact that if it took me 2-3 hours to get there. I do stay out contained in the country, and this is particularly a force to our vet's workplace. this can nicely be something. i'm not a vet, in spite of the indisputable fact that it ought to nicely be Parvo, ought to nicely be inner bleeding.

If it hasn't gone away in a few weeks already, that's not 'rushing' her to the vet. You've waited long enough.

Not an emergency, but you need to get that checked ASAP. I wouldn't put it off any longer. If it turns into osteomyelitis, you'll wish you hadn't.
