I think to become a vet one would need to have a lot of compassion for animals.
Since animal testing is almost a form of breach of animal rights, it may not be viewed in the best light by vets.
Yet, animal testing in the labs have allowed us to better our understanding of certain medical, biological phenomena, which may benefit humankind in the long run, thereby indirectly benefiting the vets too.
However, I would still say that out of compassion, they would oppose animal testing.

Yes! I am against animal testing and I am not a Vet. So I am sure that someone who loves animals enough to be their Dr.. would oppose such cruelty!

No, as much as we would like an idealistic world with no cruelty I am afraid that most level headed, rational people realize that it is a necessary evil. What are our alternatives? Humans?

No, most all vets are in the business for money only. They could care less about animals. Few, very few, are sensitive towards animals.
BTW, women make better vets for pets.
