We'd like to adopt a puppy, sooner rather than later -- but will likely be in an apartment rather than a house for a couple of months yet.

We have all the time in the world to take him for walks, to parks, etc; somebody's almost always home, it's a two-bedroom with hallways, etc -- but it's still a far cry from a house with a yard.

Your thoughts?

She follows him around the house and jumps on him and takes his food right out of his hands. Now the dog is getting on the tables and taking food off the table when no one is looking. It is really getting bad but, my mother will not spank the dog. How can I get her to stop without having to beat the dog in front of my mother?

His diet has consistently been worms, other bugs, some fruit and veggies. Recently I added canned dog food which contains veggies, chicken and is supposed to be all organic. He LOVES it! It's called By Nature and I add it to his dish about twice a week. He's always had brown worm looking stools, and though the shape is consistent, it is white. It started before adding the dog food. He definetely is eating more consistantly now-very picky before and not crazy about veggies. I also supplement with a multi vit and calcium. He does not appear sick at all-very active, but I know they get sick very slowly so I'd like to head off any possible problem. Thank you, Barbh724

I recently took my cat to the vet because he is excessively cleaning himself to the point of baldness. The vet examined him, took blood for immune tests and ran the fecal test. She also insisted that I have him re-tested for FIV, claiming that he didn't look as if he had it. (He tested positive with another vet.) When all was said and done, the bill was $200 and I have NO results. And, he is STILL FIV positive! The vet doesn't know what is wrong and stated that they would call me with the results of the blood work. I have yet to get a phone call and my cat is STILL licking himself. I went ahead and placed a "Stop Payment" on the check as I feel I should not pay for something that did not yield any results. What are your views?

I have never owned a dog before. I have a large yard but it is not fenced in. Do they shed constantly? I live in Michigan and am looking for a local breeder.

I have a 100G fish tank with African Sicklets it has been healthy for around 2years now. the fish are breeding and all my tests are normal ranges. In the last 2-3 weeks I have noticed redish-brown spots that have appeared only on the glass. I can scrub these off with the brush but it requires alot of force. what can cause these and how do I prevent it from happening again?

i have 2 cats and i've had them for 3 years. they are both females, (they are sisters) we adopted them from a barn and their were 20 other cats in there. they kept breeding, so the owner tryed selling the cats and i adopted two.

they get along greet, but they hate other cats. They will swat and bite and hiss and scream, even if they grew up with 20 other cats! i got this new little kitten named Cookie, she's about 7 weeks now, or somthing like that, and she likes to "play" with the other cats. my old kitties don't like it and they start attacking her. they are getting better.. but not really. wat should i do? :(

You give 24 hours for the puppy to be checked by a Vet or all gaurnatee's are null and void and this persons what's you to replace the puppy and pay half of the Vet bills. In the gaurnatee it states that no medicine or Vet bills will be paid by the seller. What would you do if this person says they are going to sue you. Need your help.

I just got a 4 months old Bunny. He lives in a big wire cage that has a pull-out tray under it. Would it be ok to NOT put cardboard or wood on the bottom of the cage? Or would it hurt his legs? The wire isn't sharp, and he would have a much cleaner cage if I didn't have cardboard on the bottom. I would only put arefresh bedding on the wire. Would that be ok for him?

I got a russian tortoise the other day, and I'm not sure that he/she is doing so well.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE:
30 gallon tank
100watt heat lamp shining on one corner of the tank
7% uv light on 12hrs a day
water pool w. ramp for swimming/drinking
hollow half log for hiding
tortoise food & lettuce

At the pet store they said that this is all I need, but my turtle isn't moving around at all--and the store said that he should move around as a sign of healthiness.

Does anyone know what I have done wrong, so that I can make my turtle happier and healthier?

THANKS!
