i have 2 cats and i've had them for 3 years. they are both females, (they are sisters) we adopted them from a barn and their were 20 other cats in there. they kept breeding, so the owner tryed selling the cats and i adopted two.

they get along greet, but they hate other cats. They will swat and bite and hiss and scream, even if they grew up with 20 other cats! i got this new little kitten named Cookie, she's about 7 weeks now, or somthing like that, and she likes to "play" with the other cats. my old kitties don't like it and they start attacking her. they are getting better.. but not really. wat should i do? :(

They are letting her know they are boss. They will slowly let her join their club and you will have a trio of trouble. It's not that they dislike her, they are just laying down some ground rules for her. Eventually they will either tolerate her or she will grow up and kick their butts. They will all get along. Give it some time.

You should just hold down your other two cats while Cookie comes to inspect them. If they still swat at her, then maybe Cookie wasn't the best idea. I think they are acting this way because they're territorial. They've been with you for so long that they have either become protective of you or your house. If Cookie runs away from this "war" then the older cats will keep at it. If she sticks around and fights back, they may back down. I would consider reading a few books or consulting a vet.

Keep the little one away from a while, and slowly introduce the others to the little one. I used to have three cats, two girls and a boy, and when I got my youngest one, we did that and it eventually worked out. But, girl cats are the worst, they're the meanest.

My vet advised against me getting another cat; as females cats do not like it. They will robably learn to tolerate each other in time, but they do not like each other really
