If she was an inside dog maybe had a ruptured ulcer. if outside dog could be poisoning. take her in for autopsy . would be worth knowing so it dosent happen with another dog. altho with ulcers would have blackish stools and u would have noticed signs if u are close to your dog and know her habits

Are you positive that she vomited the blood? I am wondering because I have had a few experiences with the Parvovirus and this causes them to vomit up all fluids in their stomachs, and then when that is gone, they vomit up bile.....they poop out blood like mad and if it's left untreated, it is fatal, sometimes even when it's treated, it is fatal. If this is the case, you will need to sterilize everywhere the dog has been if you ever want future dogs.....I would say that getting an autopsy on the dog would probably be a very good idea........I am so sorry for your loss!

This summer I almost lost my Chocolate Lab that way. He had suffered for years with ear infections. No matter what the vet and I did they continued. The meds he was on ate his stomach lining and created a bleeding ulcer. He vomited so much blood. I took him in the middle of the night to a 24 hr. emergency vet . He was close to death but, luckily pulled through. I am so sorry for you.

This is sad and usually poison is the reason. When the poison gets the the body the body almost automatically throws everything out. It starts vomiting(more like just slowly barfing, leaking out).

Sounds like she ate something poisonous. Either that or she could of had cancer or something. My friends cat vomited up blood and they found out after she died that she had lung cancer. Sorry about your dog!
