Ok so me & my boyfriend were discussing the old fish tank he & his dad had wen he was a kid & it came up that his dad still had the tank somewhere but we dont just want your regular goldfish, we want something a bit different.

Although we like the idea my boyfriend thinks anything other than your average goldfish would be hard to care for, is there anything I need to know about caring for the more tropical fish??

I've never been a fan, however my roommate has a cat that won't leave me alone. He always comes to my room (very nosey) and he rubs up against my leg. Then when I rub his back, he hunches his back up and stands high on his toes. I don't really know what that means.

The water is freakishly dirty, the bettas are abused, and they each live in freakishly small betta vases. What can I do to make them feel at home? Should I change their water? Should I get small tanks for them? I have the food and stuff, and I am not going to the petstore today, should I just change their water? Give them something special? Put them in a bigger vase for right now? What should I do? Huury, I only have 10 minutes....

I have a male and female german shepherd pups, they are now 8 weeks old and i thought i was doing well with them, until i recently went back to see the last pup left from the litter and it was way bigger than mine! and i don't just mean a bit it was massive i mensioned it to they lady who owns the ***** and she put it down to that one had had the benefit of it's mothers milk, although there is such a big difference i really want to catch them up. they have been away from thier mum since 4 weeks but i have been feeding them 3 times a day on regular dog food and leaving milk and water down for them all the time.
what am i doing wrong? what can i feed them to help them build up as they are going eventually to be the replacements for my older dogs who work as security dog units, so therefore being fareley big is a good quality.
someone has suggested raw meat, but not sure if this is myth or not.
Please help!!!!

Hi i got my parakeet 2 months ago and she hasnt played with any of the toys i bought her. She has settled in fine otherwise. she even asks me to scratch her head for her. But she doesn't seem to want to play with her toys and most of the time she just sits and grooms herself. At the petstore she was the most active bird in the whole lot and was constantly playing with a set of balls. I have an exact replica of this toy in her cage but she shows no interest in it whatsoever? Is this normal? Is there anything i can do?

My daughter asked some questions about owning a rat. Her dad has 99% agreed to let her have one. Thank you to all who answered seriously!...Hubby and son are deathly allergic to cats, so no we can't get a cat!

Now I have a question....the cage we have almost desided on is a 10 gal aqu. with a same size cage top. I know that aqu. don't breath well, so that is why we are getting the cage top also (our house is kept at 68 deg. so heat is not a concern.

My question is: is this cage big enough for 2 female rats? Most of my daughter's research says 2 are better (also I have a son, so the second rat would be his). Do we need a bigger cage?

We will be getting the rats in about two weeks, so I need info fast.

He is a 6 mth old german shep. He will run away and hide when any one he doesnt know is around. Sometimes bark, especially when you make a noise at him. He pants so bad he foams up too. Oh yeah, he shakes. Its seems like he is having an anxiety attack. I need to know how to help him overcome these fears so he can be more relaxed.

had a very pregnant female guppy green cobra fancy tail she had one baby then died have the fry in a suspended breeding tank,she was swimming with her head pointed towards the top of the tank and just died been in tank over a month rest of the fish are doing great so is the lil baby? any ideas what happen?

My chihuahua are huge. The are 6 months old and weigh 9 & 10 pounds! They are pure bred and registered with AKC and they look like chihuahuas, but they are really big. And adorable :)

He's been humping himself for a few months now (the vet won't neuter him yet because he's so small). It doesn't bother me because he doesn't hump things. He generally stays to himself, goes in a corner and uses his paw and the floor. But the last 2 days he's started to whine and cry a little before he starts.
Is he in pain? Is it like an itch? Does he have control over this or is it for pleasure? Should I be concerned?

I wrote a few months ago and received great answers about when my new Roosie would learn to crow. You were all right! It was hysterical listening to him learn, and as of today, he is an official wake-up call.

Now we're starting to have some trouble with him getting aggressive. We have 1 dog and 2 cats and all 4 get along well. Roosie is pretty tame, he allows me to pick him up and pet. ( He even goes on walks with me)
But he is one demanding critter! If he wants fed NOW or is in a mood, he reaches out and pecks you on the foot ( ow!). I don't want my grandkids hurt - any ideas how to best raise this teenager?
