I usually petsit dogs. This year, my new clients have been mixed households, dogs and cats, and the cats outnumbering the dogs. They are all lovely animals, but the cats DRIVE ME NUTS. Each one is has weird unique needs, and they all communicate with the same stare and flat, repetitive YOW. Now I know, if I LIVED with them and wasn't just a guest, I would come to understand in time what each one expects of me. (But some of the owners claim to be baffled as well.) I have lived with cats in the past, but they weren't mine and we always sort of ignored each other

Cats want three things: to be fed and watered, have doors opened, and their litter changed, and they don't care who does it. If you don't, they'll wander off and find another human who will. How can someone have loyalty and love for such a fickle creature? Yes, I know they bat their feline eyelashes and look gorgeous. So, is that the only reason to keep them? Pure beauty? Because if it is, I guess I can understand it

Well, we (my dad, my little brother and his friends, and I) were planning on taking a really short walk to 7-eleven and back. But it turned out to be a really long (like about 1 hour) walk around the neighborhood and back home. Will this affect her pregnancy or her puppies?

My new puppy (pug) is the cutest and most fun-loving critter you ever wanna meet. I take him to work with me so he won't have to be home alone all day (otherwise, he tends to cry and get into all kinds of mischief). Anyway, yesterday I noticed he was not his happy go lucky self (i.e. he didn't drink or eat anything and had that "I'm sick" kinda look about him) so I took him to the vet and the diagnosis was "too much handling and shaking of the puppy” by his admiring fans at work. In other words, poor lil' guy was almost love-smothered to death by my otherwise good-intentioned fellow colleagues and coworkers! Luckily, the puppy is fine now but I am thinking of having someone make him a jacket/sticker that says something like: “You can adore/watch, but you cannot touch” (and I’m not kidding either)! Would appreciate any other ideas for protecting the puppy against his adoring fan club members (who also love to feed him all kinds of people food, btw) without pissing them off?

supposed to be used in cats. I called the vet and was told it can be used in cats. Has anyone else ever used this?

do you think it would help to get the cat confortable with the new house if i caught one more? they are really tiny i think between 3-5 weeks. they grew up in the wild so do you think it would be better to keep one or catch another cat that is it's friend? (they all stay around eachother when in wild)

My mother's uncle had a pet skunk and I'm really interested in getting one as well. They aren't illegal in my state, and they are descented. If anyone has one for a pet I'd really like your feedback, thanks.

ok so my dog has killed a rat, she chases after birds in the park and she barks at the cats she sees out the window. I really want to get a guinea pig, but i am a little afraid she might be aggressive towards it.

can anyone come up with an idea or a way for me to test her and possibly break her of this behavior BEFORE i commit to adopting and bring the pig into our home?

I have a 20 gallon fish tank with a Oscar and Algea eaters. Just in the last couple of weeks the water has been turning green. I cleaned the tank. Cleaned the filters. And it's still really dirty. Any suggestions? Please help!

Our lab had recently ran away from us and to our dismay she was brought to the animal control shelter. When we got her we realized she wasn't feeling well, we heard to watch out that she might have "kennel cough" , she has been showing signs, and so are two of the other dogs, but they have also been coughing up a white foaming spit vomit is this a symptom of "kennel cough"?

For some reason at work and usual daily life I come across several people who don't like and say it like it's something to be proud of. As I just don't understand this behavior I was wondering if this also happens to you?

OKay help. I just got an 8 week old pug and I love the little girl to death. But she won't sleep. All she does in whine all night long and I'm losing sleep over this. Are there any tips to help her be more comfortable on her own because I'm so tired and ready to let her start sleeping with me.

Her hair is coming out in big globs. Has anyone had this happen to their dog? She is on thyroid medicine for hypothroidism (hypothyroidism sometimes causes dogs to lose their hair). She is not scratcing/licking so that would seemingly rule out allergy. We are taking her to the Dr. on Sunday, but when I told them about this today they didn't seem to have any good answers. Please don't answer this unless you have some serious insight or experience with a similar problem.

i foster bottle-fed orphan kittens for a no-kill shelter. i don't have a lot of experience, but i have raised one litter (from 10 days old), and another single kitten from 3 weeks. so here is my problem.

i have a kitten that is three and a half weeks old. he was left on a doorstep by a feral mom who got scared off (that's the story i got). he eats quite well from the bottle. in fact, he weighed a pound at three weeks. but he fusses all the time. i have had him since he was nine days old, and he has always been like this. he sleeps well in his rubbermaid tub with his stuffed animals and heating pad. but from the moment he is picked up, until he is put down again, he cries. except for when the bottle is in his mouth. he has been checked by a vet within the last few days, and they said he is healthy. i have tried everything i can think of. i burp him, keep him warm, wrap him in blankets, don't wrap him in blankets, snuggle him. he just doesn't seem happy.

Her stable name is Rosie. She is a hunter jumper. We have been doing some jumper stuff and might do that at the next show. She is chestnut with one sock and one anclet. Laid back and really sweet. Her registered name is checkout rae. Her mom's name is eternal judgement and her dads name is checkout checker. I would like it to do with rosie. It doesn't have to do with her parents names. I have been showing her as everything's rosie but am getting bord of it.
