Our rescued kitten was found to have an oozing place on her head that didn't seem to heal with topical treatments. We took her to a vet. She was found to have a warble in her head, right behind her right ear, and it was huge. The vet had to sedate her and make an incision to get it out, and then gave her an oral antibiotic to follow up. Since then, her behaviour's been strange, and seems to get worse every day. She sleeps a lot more, and no longer meows.. She often jumps up on this one chair and seems to be following something up in space with her eyes that only she can see. Her eyes have changed in appearance, as well. They seem sunken in, and rolled upward. For the past week, she has acted as though she doesn't understand much of anything. Tonight, we found her on the kitchen floor repeatedly throwing herself against the cabinets and flipping over very hard onto her back. She seemed almost possessed, like she couldn't help it or stop it. Could she have brain damage from the warble?
