I don't really think it's going to survive - mussels need to be anchored to a rock, and once that anchor is broken, I don't believe it can reattach itself. They eat plankton, so I guess if you want to try to keep it alive you should keep it in some seawater. I'm not really sure if they sell plankton at pet stores, although someone must since some people keep giant clams. It's probably not going to live though so don't go spending a lot of money on it.

Usually you can buy a pack of cigarettes and gently break the cigarette and pour the tobacco all over the tank, the nicotine helps their immune system. I saw that on some show on tv. It is WAY interesting.

That is complicated..you should probably put it back..they filter feed on plankton, which would be very hard for you to provide..
