I really want to get a puppy. I want it to preferably have short hair, be medium to big in size and be quite athletic (i want to take it for walks, like everyday). It must also not attack my cats! What breed do you think would be most suitable for me?

Our cats usually are given a name brand dry cat food. Well times are tough so we had to try and spend cheap and we bought an off brand of cat food. Usually cups of food would last maybe a day and a half tops and now two scoops is going on 4 days now. Is there anything I can do?

I have 2 dogs. A Yorkshire Terrier and a Chihuahua. They're both 1 year and 4 months old. I would really love to teach my dogs tricks. From what I'm seeing my Yorkie is a bit more intelligent. Is it to late to teach my dogs tricks? If not can someone tell me a method for teaching dogs? I've tried all I can think of to teach them but they won't even learn SIT. Please help me~

My mum has a 1yo Cat who she has had since a kitten, and it has never warmed to the idea of being held or jumping up for cuddles. As far as we know it was never neglected by humans, it was from a pet shop. Will it be this way for life?

“I don’t use the word “pet.” I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer “companion animal.” For one thing, we would NO LONGER ALLOW BREEDING.. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance — Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s President, quoted in The Harper’s Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223. “
I coudl not belive this when I read it. This woman is nuts and so is PETA.

I grew up with dogs and my husband didn't. I think dogs are clean and he thinks dogs are dirty. I used to sleep with my dog and now I cannot anymore because he thinks it is gross. I did not know b4 I married him he would be like this. I miss my dog being inside and cuddled with me. How can I convince my husband to let her be with me
