Take him to the vets for a check up,
All cats need cat biscuits with multi vitamins, this helps to clean your cats teeth chewing the hard biscuits

If your cat is healthy he just likes the feel/taste , my cat likes plastic bags

If you are feeding him a good quality pet food according to the instructions his diet should be ok. Maybe he likes the taste! At least, like the four siamese I used to have, he doesn't continually raid the kitchen cupboards eating everything in sight! I would check with the vet next time you're there, but wouldn't worry unless he starts showing any other strange symptoms.

Actually Cats like to lick around things like stones.A salt lick everyday might help.

It could be worth asking your vet the next time you go there but like above cats do weird things. Mine liked to lick the curtains?!!

Could be after salt, but I would ask a vet, in case its something he shouldnt be doing. I have a nutty one who licks a marble fireplace and the tv screen!

my cats do that when they are really thirsty try putting out bottled water in his bowl and he might stop licking the pavement, if not speak to your vet. Good luck hope everything goes well.

I think that as long as you think your cat is getting a balanced diet, he is. My cat likes to lick and chew paper.
