we are putting ceramic tile on a wall and want to know if we have to prime the wall or will the thinset adhere to the wall where we patched the drywall

can you put wallpaper on the bottom
of bathroom cabinets and things like that
so it can keep from staining the actual
bottom of them??

ok, we are carpeting the upstairs...3 bedrooms. The girls have lavendar walls with butterfly border, boys have blue walls with sports theme and our room is a beige color. We will put all same color in the 3 rooms. what would you suggest as a good color choice of carpet for all 3 rooms?

I have a tile floor in a basement bathroom. These are small 2 inch tiles and I would like larger 8 by 8 inch tiles on the floor. Do I need to remove the old tile or can the new tile be laid right over the old tile? The subloor is concrete slab.

I work nights and sleep in the afternoon... just in time for the afternoon sun to shine directly into my apartment. Short of moving... there's little I can do right now to avoid it. How can I block out the sun??? My next step after ear plugs and a sleep mask is heavy curtains. But I really need to find some very nice curtains that will block out the sun and still look nice to match my decore in my apartment. Think elegant.

The existing door is located onto a bearing partition wall !
I really don't know if I have to put 2 jack studs and separate them with block or follow the same method .

Of course safety is my over riding concern. But some of the quotes I have gotten thus far have been very high. I know, I know, just do it myself right?? Well, I am not well versed in that field. I would much rather pay SOMEONE ELSE to do it.
