The walls/ceiling are light and the carpet is neutral, closer to light. I'm thinking of getting dark furniture to contrast it, I think it might look quite stylish.

What do you think? How will it make the room feel?

I'm trying to create/make some kind of wall rack for my sunglasses in my bedroom. I always have somewhere between 5-10 pairs.

I'm thinking of using a grid similar to this but without the caddy shelves

Let me know if you prefer one over the other and why, or if you have a different suggestion I'd love to hear it.

If you know a place to get something more useful or cheaper please inform me!

Thanks!!!!!

I have lime green walls. I need ideas that don't involve painting or a lot of work. I like alternative music and martial arts.

I would like to hang a moose head that I have in the living room. The question I have is on the location where the wall meets the cieling. How thick is the wood in this spot. Is it strong enough to place two ancors in this location and hang the moose from it with chains.

I have a table that I want to stain to be darker, but the top is laminate. I know a liquid stain won't penetrate the laminate, but will a gel stain work since it's non-penetrating?

My windows in the front of the house have a half circular window on top. There are 3 of these in the front.Do you think it would be a wise choice to install stained glass in these areas or would it look too much like a cathedral. We have several stained glass lamps and fire place covers, but it is all inside.Would it look nice or unclassy.

I just bought a new rectangular area rug. It came in a roll, and when I unrolled it at home, the part of the rug that was in the very center of the roll turned out to be all kinked and curled. I tried putting heavy books on it for a few days to flatten it out, but that didn't really work. I don't think I can iron it. Any suggestions?

The table underneath the laminate is solid wood, but the laminate looks like crap! I want to remove the laminate and then stain the wood underneath. What is the best way to remove this laminate?

How would it look if I painted the woodwork in my house, but have hardwood flooring? Right now there seems to be too much wood.

My daughter got a beautiful hand knitted quilt from my aunt when she was a baby I have been cherishing the quilt and now that she is six and with her own bedroom I would love to hang it on the wall. The quilt is knitted and very delicate since it can get torn easily, it is also white and gets dirty very fast, but it is beautiful. I would hate having it in storage for more time. Any ideas?

We bought a house with two bathrooms, one of the bathrooms is pink -- the sink and toilet are pink w/white walls -- and it is connected to my daughters room, perfect right? Well not with a boy in the house who needs to share the same pink bathroom. How can I make it a kids bathroom and not a girl's bathroom with out chaning the pink sink and toilet? Any ideas...

My wife and I just replaced our old mattress (this time by ordering on the Internet}. Receiving our new mattress by mail presents a problem we hadn't considered -- what to do with the old mattress? Previously, when we purchased a new mattress from a local store, the delivery guys would take away the old mattress. We live in Santa Monica. Any ideas?

So I painted my accent wall what I thought was bronze per the sample, but dried into a burnt orange. Lucky me, it is one of my favorite colors, but not at all what I expected to be on my wall this morning. This twist kind of screws up my plans for the other walls, which were to be a light beige...that now seems questionable. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what is a nice color - preferably more neutral and way less bold than burnt orange - that will compliment the color?

I love art, and I love to draw.. But I also love to design and decorate ( you should see the plan I have for my two sons' room). I am unsure of which area I want to study in. Which do you think would have a better payoff in life choice and in pay?
