I'm looking for lots of pictures of different bedrooms so that I can find a theme I like and try to somewhat copy it for my new house. I really like dark colors...my eyes are sensitive to light so I want my bedroom to be a warm color. I have bought black furniture, as it is my fav. accent color. I was thinking deep green walls, or burgundy...but I can't decide what will look best! Help :-\

I bought a box of junk yesterday and I found one of the weirdest things. It's a glass ball about the size of the a pool ball and it had a light purple/violet color. I held it all through the day and once I was about to leave I put it in my purse. A couple of hours later I pulled it out of my purse and found it was an icy blue clear color. My sister and mother thought it was since it got cold and just changed colors, but we placed it in a cup of steaming water and it stayed the same color. Then we went into our kitchen and saw it went back to it's original color. The lighting in our kitchen is the same in the rest of the house, so it couldn't have been that. So if you have any answers or ideas, please post them. Thanks a lot!!!

I live in Maryland and am interested in buying some art deco bar stools for the kitchen.

Description:
round, black top
steel legs.

What stores in Maryland would carry this? If there are no stores available will consider buying it online.

Thanks. :-)

I'm beginning a kitchen remodeling project and have already taken the tile backsplash (about 10" high) off the sheetrock. The sheetrock was previously textured (common in new houses) and then the tile was glued onto it.

When taking the tile off, the paper portion of the sheet rock has ripped off with some of the tile exposing the plaster center portion of the sheet rock. In some other places the plaster is cracked. It isn't too bad. Some areas of damage are about half the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.

I want to retile with a full backspash and was wondering how to go about this over the damaged portions. Do I simply retile over the exposed plaster areas? How do I go about tiling over the cracked plaster portions?

Thank you for your input and suggestions.

I was going to use regular drywall for my ceiling until a friend told me that they always use the 4 x 12 sheets of ceiling drywall. Could someone please advise me on this. It's hard enough getting the 4 x 8 sheets up let alone the 4 x 12. Is ceiling drywall really that much better or can I stick with the regular drywall?

it's not a futon or sofa with pullout bed. it's made completely out of foam and the cushions fold out to make a mattress on the floor, like the kind they make for children. does anybody know where i can get one?

here's a picture of what a children's version would be like.

I have a gold colored shower door that is so ugly. I was thinking instead of ripping out the whole thing and replacing it to paint a mural over it.

Hi all.

I have a small cactus plant in the bathroom window. It was a birthday gift from my sister years ago and it pains me to throw it, despite it's 3 years old almost! I placed it in the bathroom on the window sill. Where else can I place it if this is not a good place?
Worse than this I have twin Mexican palm trees in a vase, its ends end in spikes. I like the plant because it's exotic and I had it in my bedroom practically next to me. Then I removed it because of what I saw and placed it in the living room, I don't know what is the best place. For your info, I am married, recently, no kids yet.
Thanks!

Hi all. I am really not sure how the complexity of Feng Shui works in my case. I have those low modern beds with no springboards and chairbacks as headboards. The bed was very expensive and I really like it. I feel good in it despite it doesn't have a real headboard and it's low. Any cures?
Also, I have a 30 inch screen tv. It makes me feel relaxed to watch something and fall asleep to unwind from the day. The TV however is on it's own stand and an armoir wouldn't fit here, any clues to cover it? It doesn't sit directly in front of me, but to northeast to when I look up from the bed so I do see myself.
My bed is positioned correctly, commanding & all but where the windows are on my right, it forms 3 sides, like a side of an octagon, three single windows in each wall. Is this considered an auspicious corner?
Lastly, My walls are blue and green. I feel good. I have red too, should I add more red?
Let me know if anyone can help me solve this puzzle!
I thank you for your help!

I'm a teen and I'm going to make over my room to be my dream room. I'm really into fashion, and I want it to be very nice-almost contemporary. How should I paint? What kind of flooring? What should I include? My room is pretty small, and this room has to get me through at least 4 more years. Thank you.
