My wife and I just replaced our old mattress (this time by ordering on the Internet}. Receiving our new mattress by mail presents a problem we hadn't considered -- what to do with the old mattress? Previously, when we purchased a new mattress from a local store, the delivery guys would take away the old mattress. We live in Santa Monica. Any ideas?

My Daughter recently told me of the neatest thing.

Apparently CRAIG'S LIST, has a section call "AT THE CURB" or something like that.

You put free things at the curb and people can pick them up.
Of course you have to list your address and hopefully someone will come get it.

Isn't that neat. I have one or two things I am going to try. Although you could run an ad in a free neighborhood paper and get $100.00 (which would be a bargain for a bed) As long as it is salable.

Good Luck, there is nothing worse than being stuck with something you no longer want.

I just looked it up and under Craigs list it is Free Stuff.

Call your trash pickup service, if you have a private one. If the city collects your trash, call them and ask for advice. You can usually have such items picked up for an additional charge.
