Hell yes, if you going to pay cash and not finance it, I would bargain as much as I can. If they don't want to then walk away and find another furniture store, hopefully they are not the only ones in town. If not then check around and see what kinds of deals you can get for your money. Maybe even look at buying used, as long as it doesn't look wore out or broken in. Do as much research as you can about the different kinds of furniture. What is the best quality kind and what brand or store sell the least quality and go from there. God Bless and Good Luck.

You betcha! Since you are buying 2 pieces, you have the advantage. Sometimes the people on the floor don't have that authority, but the manager might.
We bought 2 leather recliners and a mattress set at the same time and got a good deal just by being nice and talking to the right people. When we went to pay and they seen the cash, we got a free stain-guard on the mattress and leather cleaner free.
Stand firm, and check out all the stores for something you're happy with!

There are floor model stores such as Brandon's (I know of stores in NJ and AZ). Depending on where you live, there are stores like that all over, do a little research about whats in your area. Also, a great find would be a model home furniture liquidator, you can get amazing finds at amazing prices. Once you find out where you have stores like that in your area, you will be hooked!

Most merchants will agree to a discount if it means that they can save fees from credit card companies. All merchants have to pay transaction fees with each cc sale they put through. Cash alsogets the money in their account faster, without having to wait for checks to clear. So Yes, it's always worth the asking.
