My neighbor has a metal roof on her house and I think it is ugly but it will last a lot longer than shingles. Any suggestions?

We live in Jackson, MI and I hav been searching the net for about an hour and can not even find building codes or regulations. I am wanting to put a hood up into the ceiling and put recessed lighting around it. Cool right?! OK one problem... they don't sell just the blower around here from the hood. I was told to go to a resale store and "junk" a hood... any other suggestion? I don't really want one becuase I didn't use the one that was there anyway. Haven't used it since we've lived here (about 9 months).

and which is easier to care for? real hardwood means the wood is softer right? So what would I do in case of scratches or nicks, etc? I have heard it is the most expensive, but looks really good. Anymore ideas about wood flooring?

I redid a bedroom using this method, as well as the eight remedies. What a great result! But furniture placement of this kind doesn't lend itself to all the rooms.

So a friend just had a partylite candle party and there wasn't much selection but I did take a book home to decide whether to order something. I just wondered if the candles are any good. Does the scent last? Am I better just buying the Yankee candles? I just don't want to waste money ordering something first off just by seeing it in a book and then waiting 2-3 weeks for it and then to end up being a waste cause the candles are no better than ones bought at a store.

I was told that if horizontal or verticle blinds are already up to the window, there is something I could purchase to hang curtains in their place, without having to screw curtain rods in place. Does anyone know what this is?
