I was told that if horizontal or verticle blinds are already up to the window, there is something I could purchase to hang curtains in their place, without having to screw curtain rods in place. Does anyone know what this is?

I just changed these stupid verticals, they are just so hard to clean.I had them replaced with what is called tension rods. They come in 48 inches,36,24,and they do expand to almost double that size by simply twisting the two parts in opposite direction until desired width. When you reach the width you want,go ahead and give it an extra twist for an extra inch larger than the window jam,so you can create tension on the built in spring, then place one end of the rod against one side of window jam,and push until rod is compressed enough to slide in the window jam

You can hang sheers or other light window dressing using "tension rods",.. 'really a "pressure" rod IF you have room to fit them into the window jam(b).

you should be able to hot glue heavy duty velcro on the tops of your curtains (as long as they're not too heavy). tension rods are probably better though.
