It is not necessary to place your furniture's diagonally against the corner.

Every placement has to be natural and not at odd, otherwise you are just yourself into trouble of movement and placement.

Corners are hard right angles, diagonally placed furniture softens the look and relaxes. (thinkin ouside the box, so to say).
