I just moved yesterday and sadly have realized that I don't own any furniture (and am very grateful I bought myself a bed a few months ago). Since the move is unexpected I only have about a $2500 budget to furnish the living room, dining area, and bedroom. I have decided to go with IKEA since I know that I can get everything within budget. The apartment has wood floors and tan walls throughout (including tan tiles in the bathroom). I like the modern/contemporary styles. I found a couch that I like that comes in both dk. brown or white and would like to build off either. I want something that will flow nicely into the bathroom. I need to figure out a color scheme that will go nicely with everything. For example, could I use the white couch with black and pink accents and then go into the bathroom and keep the pale pink scheme? Or should I go with the dk. brown couches and go with greens or something. Since I am starting from scratch I would like the colors just the right way...THANKS

I came home to find that my hanging bar in my closet has come out of the wall. It has come completely out of the "sockets". I am aware that the bar could not hold the weight of all the clothes and coats on it. How do I put it back up? Glue, plaster, drilling? I would like to fix it and prevent it from happening again.

I've stripped off the border, scraped off every trace of the paper, and scrubbed at the glue for ages, but there's still a lot of it on the wall. I've tried a blade, a brush, a potscrub and plenty of soap and water, and white spririts, all to no avail.

Is there a magic formula I'm unaware of?

ive used tub enamel from menards and applied it as directed( with proper prepping), but it peeled within a year. the area that peeled the worst was the floor of the tub where the original glaze(PINK!!!) was somewhat worn and therefore porous.i realise i have to strip the enamel i applied last year, but if it try again...i want to make sure it lasts. after some research...i beleive the problem i had was lack of a proper binding primer.
thank you for your help! :)

Currently, I live alone & the best place for me to have my "office" is in the kitchen. There's enough room for both a desk and a small kitchen table. I cook a lot, and being able to work/surf the web while I cook works real well for me.
Any general thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks.

2day many homes and flats are being renovated and I am interested in learning the Art of redesining those flats or homes. Is there some good institute where I can learn designing? I am retired but I enjoy this field and maybe this will keep me busy too.

I went to Home Depot and there were so many different types and prices -- I'm just confused. I don't know what to look for. We have a 5 year-old daughter and 6 year-old daughter and 3 cats that stay indoors.
