Technically the Christmas season is 30 days from the day of Christmas, so you could leave them up until the end of January. However, most people don't do this, but hey, put 'em up and take 'em down whenever you want. This is America baby.

Most people I know like to take the New Years Holiday period for taking down decorations. My wife likes to keep the tree up until it starts to shed. We always get a live tree that has been cut for sale. I joke with her that I always dread April 15, not because that is the day taxes are due, but because that is the day we take down the Christmas decorations.

Remove about 2-3 days after the new year. Take them down the first weekend in January.

My 92 year old grandmother always said it was bad luck to have Christmas decorations/tree up on the 1st day of the new year so I have always taken by down by New Years Eve. I sure don't need any bad luck!

Bad Christmas, huh? There are no rules on when you should remove your interior holiday decorations. However, if I drive by your house in March and they are still up...I'm going to cringe. If I'm not on my medication, I might even go nutz!!!

Seriously, I usually leave mine up until New Year's day. Many of my friends do also. Some friends leave their's up coincide with the Epiphany/Jan. 6th.

We usually remove ours the weekend after Christmas. Some people wait until after January 6th (the Epiphany), but I am often ready to clean my house up and have the space back!

This is easy. Whenever you want. I will take mine down the day after New Year's Day. I put it up 2 days before Thanksgiving. We all love the decorations and we will be sad when they come down. But there is always next year!

My husband says it's bad luck to keep your decorations up past New Year's eve. But I am not superstitious so I say it's up to you.
If it is a real tree many places have eco friendly options for disposing of it. Read your local paper and you are bound to find a good idea.

If you don't put them up, you won't have to take them down. That's what us old folks do --lol

But when I did go through all of that decorating stuff--I always took everything down on New Years eve or New Years Day.

I figure a couple of days past New Year's. Whenever we have a free day with time to take them down.
