We just upgraded our TV to a 50" big screen. We have a very modest and homey living room. I don't know how it's going to look. It's not one that stands alone--we have to buy a stand for it but I'm not too sure how it's going to look. Any ideas on making a big screen fit in a warm and casual living room?

If this helps we already have a lot in the room. One lazy boy, an over sized chair, an oversized sofa (with queen-sized bed), an upright piano (cherry wood), DVD/CD rack, and two large speakers with surround sound. Our home office is also a part of the living room so it's pretty much just a long room.

The color of the TV is black where as all the other furniture are more neutral colors. Is there anyway to get these piece to fit in or will it always look like the odd ball? Any ideas on stands? Our home is anything but contemporary but that’s the only kind of stand we seem to find.

I am decorating my room in the theme of Islamorada, Keys. My room is painted lime green with a tropical/Hawiainan bed spread. I have a desk, dresser, TV, bed, and mirror closet. I have sheer window curtains and I am also looking for a decorative way to tie them back. I need something other then pictures to put of my wall. Oh yea, I also have a really comfy chair. My room doesn't have a lot of floor space so any kind of organization like shelves that can be hung on the wall would be helpful! Any suggestions? THANKS!!!

We have an awkward spot in our basement heading down the stairs. We barely have enough spaace to bring bigger items down. We would like to put a 3/4 drywall and glue it to the wall. Is this possible? Can I just use liquid nails?

When you stain wood trm and quarter round, should you just use stain, or a combo stain and poly, or stain first, then poly? Or does it depend on the area.

I have yet to buy a stud finder that has worked for me. Maybe I am doing it wrong? Or maybe they're just not that accurate....Can you recommend a brand that works well?
