My Daughters Are 12 and 10. They Choose To Live With Their Dad, So They Are Only at Our House Every Other Weekend, They Are Currently In The Larger Bedroom, But Our 2 Boys Ages 3 and 13 Months Need The Bigger Bedroom Now. I Want To Make The Smaller Bedroom Into The Girls Bedroom Without Making Them Feel Like They Are Being "Pushed" Out.... Any Ideas On How To Make This Small Space Work for Them??

basement is dark, only two small windows so any dark colors cannot be considered. Currently a dingy, light yellow that I'm not fond of.

Daily I visit a 97 year old resident of a nursing home. The dining room is a dirty white (I guess). There is no color of any kind. What suggestions do you have to make this room more inviting to the residents for increasing their appetite, making it more cheerfull and welcoming? I have not spoken to the director but hope your suggestions will help present a positive approach to changing the appearance of such a dull room.

I am mechanically disinclined and currently broke (married), Dont even like to think abou the details peole are tellin me bout building a privacy wall for my 7 year old who really needs one for his room (right now he's got a sheet on a rope) I'd consider just about anything that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, or a degree in engineering.

Hi all.

I read somewhere that the more a threadcount is on a squared surface, the more luxurious and comfortable sheets can become. Does anyone know where I find information about sheets that have the highest known threadcount possible?

Thanks.

I will be selling my home next month and I am trying to decide what I should spend money on fixing up or renovating, and what is not worth it?

My house is a newer house, 9 years old. The hardwood floors throughout it have never been refinished. They look decent, but have no coating left on them at all and have some minor scuffs and scraps in them. The kitchen appliances are all originals, in working order. The walls need to be painted badly. They contain dings and marks throughout, the bedrooms were painted poorly by myself (dark colors, paint on ceiling). The front deck needs to be revinyled (couple of rips, fading, rust stains, etc.) and the garage also needs to be painted and have some big holes filled in (car ran into the front of it from old owner).

My question is, what to do, and what do I leave? I want to invest money that I will get back out of it. Would putting in $2,000 worth of new stainless steel appliances be worth it? Or not? Should I repaint the house, redo floors?

I just bought a hollophane light fixture for my kitchen that is dated 1912. It has an adapter that I can use a regular light that screws out but what kind of light bulb would I use if I wanted to use the original socket?

This socket is bigger than the one that takes the adapter. I think that using a bigger bulb would give me maximum lighting in my kitchen.

I would like to do the texture with the brush swirls in it. On the Lowe's website it keeps showing it done with just Venetian Plaster..but it's really expensive. Can I just use a regular joint compound, or is venetian plaster the only option?
