I really want to make my guestroom higher than it is, so is there any painting technique that I can use to cause this effect???

My ceiling is too low, I just want a way to make it look as if is higher. Is there anyone that can help???

Thanks in advance!

Paint your ceiling the same color as the walls.
Use robin egg's blue to make the whole room appear larger and higher.
Use a stripe pattern on the walls but do it monochrome (paint the wall all one color. Once that is done, place painters tape in alternating stripes. Between the tape and directly on the painted wall, paint medium gloss or satin gloss clear varnish. Remove the tape immediately. The wall is now monchromatic stripes)
Place a rectangle mirror over a credenza or other piece of furniture. Make sure the mirror is oversized and hanging length wise and not sideways.
Use decorating items that will draw the eye upwards.

i have masked down the wall ...as in don't paint all the way to the ceiling....say leaving a 2 inch white (or whatever colour the ceiling is) on the top of the wall....kinda looks like fake crown molding...but it does seem to give the illusion that the walls are taller then they are

Try working with stripes.
