What would you say is the smarter choice?

* Buy an older home - stick money into fixing it up (ourselves) - reselling for profit

* Buy a modular home - perfect move in condition - no fixing needed - resell in a few years when we'd like to move

Any ideas / suggestions welcomed!

We are remodling a house built on a slab and we are replacing the furnace and the vents. The old ones where holes in the slab and we would like to fill them before we lay the flooring.

A simple shelf about 3' long, with standard 4 hole "L" brackets. I'm hanging 4 of them, and just wondering what I should charge...per foot? per unit?

I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE TEXTURED, PAINTED WALLS. IM NOT SURE WHAT THE BEST WAY TO GO IS. SOME HAVE SUGGESTED A "PUTTY" TO FILL IN THE CRACKS IN THE WOOD. SOME HAVE SAID TO JUST TEAR IT DOWN AND START FROM SCRATCH.

Roughly how much will this cost (not including the cost of the bathroom suite)?
i don't expect an exact amount but a rough idea would be great.Thanks.

My tenant had a lease on my home for 1 year and broke because of some argument with a co-tenant. He left without paying his last months rent, trashed the place completely and broke a window. My house was fully remodeled inside and outside before he came in and now it needs about 1week of full time work on it. I live in Sacramento, Ca and just need a site or a phone number to file a complaint. Because I dont want this to happen to anyone else. Please help.

We have hardwood floors downstairs and my wife thinks it will look fresher and match the downstairs better if we remove the old carpet. My concern is that the wood will be too slippery and dangerous. What do you all think?
