Do you like traditional decor such as the way an old castle would be decorated or do you like contemporary Ikea type decor? Why?

this would be a brand new bathroom. house is 1 story on a sloping lot with partial basement and crawl space. the location of the addition is flat ground, not sloping. there is an existing bathroom nearby to the planned addition. we'd be adding 1 toilet, 1 jetted tub and a seperate shower and 2 pedestal sinks

Just bought a house and was expecting to finish the basement. Some problems I have found while planning this. Window sills are too high for code. Floor is not level. Unsure if space between floor and ceiling is enough for code. On the plus side, there is no moisture on the walls. Basement is completly under ground exept for about 2 feet for windows. Any comments would be appreciated.

we are looking to redo our fireplace. we are going to do a oak mantle with granite worked in below the mantle and also a granite hearth. is this a look that could eventually be outdated or do you think that granite is here to stay in homes?

I am considering using this technique to cover up some old wallpaper and was wondering if there was a particular weight of tissue paper that should be used? Also, the color I am considering is a pale green and want to do a darker green glaze over it. I am not sure how to start this project.

I am all set and ready to paint. I picked the color BM Philadelphia Cream but I'm not sure whether to get flat finish or eggshell. My walls have a lot of imperfections. The room is a combined living room/dining room/hallway. Any suggestions or preferences?

What color should I paint the garage? Should it be white? I notice most garages are white. White is okay for interiors, but for a space which is vented to the outside, woudn't white show the dirt more?

Also, since the garage does have a vent which exposes it to the outside air, should I use interior, or exterior paint?

We just built a new home, and I need help on my paint choices. The home is on an open plan, with the kitchen/dining rooms being visible from the living room. I wish to paint my living room a Moss Green or Sage. I have hardwood floors, and my furniture will be a oak finish. My couch consist of sage, burgandy, golds and browns. My chairs will be a deeper green like a willow color. The dining room/kitchen is one area, and is directly off the living area, open floor plan. My floors are a beige/cream ceramic tile, cabinets are a fruitwood color, has a hint of a peachy look, and the countertops are a cream/beige mix with specks of a darker brown and black. I really want my living room to be sage or moss green, and would like my kitchen to be a peach or maybe terra cotta color, but do not want an eyesore, could someone recommend a color for my kitchen/dining area if I did paint my living room Sage. Also a good color for window coverings..curtains..drapes. I would really appreciate your help
