The use of color is also something very personal. It stimulates our senses, power our mood, and helps create a particular ambiance. How we respond to an individual color depends on our nature, extroverts tend to feel happy with bold colors, while introverts prefer more passive colors.

Through using specific combinations of color, combined with a careful consideration of simple color schemes is often the most effective.

Try not to use more than one or two principal colors in a room, as well as a contrasting or balancing tone. The best way to choose a background color for the room is to trial with a palette of different shades and tones, in combination with the color and textures of the furniture and materials. Remember the general color schemes of a home have to be in agreement. The walls define the space in a room, while the colors, to a large degree, define the mood.

Colored light, furnishing materials, and structural proportions, we can create a home that is welcoming, helpful, and comfortable. Walls are similar to background music: each color tone is like a musical note can create a pleasant-sounding harmony while others grate with each other.

The color with which we surround ourselves will without doubt have an effect on us, and so it is important to feel comfortable with our choice. A discussion with a professional color consultant can help to decide individual needs and select appropriate color.

Colors can be divided into three main groups: those that stimulate and uplift, those that relax and calm, and those that provide harmony or balance. So, having taken a number of things into thought when decorating a room, such as the size of the space, the amount of light, the function if the room, and the style and mood we wish to create, we finally, and most importantly, need to consider the needs of the people who use it.

Brown. Something dark to offset the light furniture, otherwise the room could look really bland and boring and kind of, blah.
Brown looks really good with beige,
but so does a sage green.
Bergundy also is pretty with it.

consider these colors and you won't regret it! Even if they sound scary now, don't worry about it.
If you're too scared to go for the plunge of painting all your walls this color, go for one, main accent wall (not one where the windows are. that'll hide the light coming in).
It would be nice to tie the paint on the walls in with the middle of the room by getting a big rug that matches it somehow.

Have fun!

When I think of beige, I think of the beach and all the colors found possible on the beach. In particular, I find beige to resemble the color of sand, naturally. When I think of colors that natually come together with that, I think of rocks, water, and colors of the sky. Depending on the size of your room, a smaller room will work well with lighter hues whereas a larger room can handle the tones of darker hues. Once you've picked the wall color, ( and believe me it's not an easy decision all the time ) I am positive you had favorites that you left behind - well fear not! Tie all those other colors in with your accessories! Much luck to you!

Darker Hues ( suggested ):
Navy blues, deep browns, dark greys, charcoal dusty blacks, darker greens

Lighter Hues ( suggested ):
Light blues, soft yellows - oranges - reds, seafoam green, cream colors, light grey

Paint color is personal.Suggest you purchase a beautiful piece of art you love or multi colored pillows you love for your sofa and pull the color for your wall and accessories out of either of those.Your furniture is neutral and that is good.Designers use this technique all the time.

WITH NEUTRAL COLORS IN YOUR FURNITURE YOU COULD PAINT IT ANY COLOR YOU LOVE! CONTRARY TO WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY, THERE JUST AREN'T A LOT OF RULES WHEN YOU CHOOSE PAINT FOR ANY ROOM THESE DAYS BUT YOU WILL WANT TO CONSIDER THE CARPET OR FLOORS, TOO. YOU DIDN'T SAY WHAT COLOR THEY WERE, BUT IF IT WERE MY ROOM I WOULD HAVE A BALL DOING SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT. I HAVE SIMILAR COLORS TO YOURS AND HAVE WAS SURPRISED AND THRILLED TO SEE HOW GOOD IT LOOKED WITH THE RED I HAVE! YOUR TASTE WILL BE DIFFERENT THAN MINE SO GET SOME PAINT CHIPS, BRING THEM HOME AND SEE HOW THEY LOOK ON YOUR STUFF. CHECK OUT THE LITTLE BOOKLETS AT THE PAINT STORE, THERE ARE A LOT OF ROOMS WITH FANTASTIC COLORS IN THEM. YOU'D BE SURPRISED HOW NICE ANY DIFFERENT COLOR WILL LOOK BUT IT'S YOUR CHOICE. IT WILL LOOK GREAT WHEN YOU'RE DONE!

It depends on what you're putting in it. Pick something (picture, piece of furniture, etc... my friend just painted her living room based on the color of the incense sticks she burns) in the room as your inspiration piece, and pull the colors from that.
