What you're looking for is durability, scratch resistance and good sound absorption (I can imagine that nine couples out on the floor could sound awful, unless there's effective damping.)

Pergo should give you all these, based on my experience in my own home. Also, I know it's been installed successfully in some school and public gyms. They also offer a decent warranty (50 years, where I am).

Make sure the installer is qualified and experienced - ask him how many jobs he's done with Pergo before.
