This couch has been my favorite couch for many years. I have recently got my own place, got the couch out of storage and it smells horrible. I don't have a steam cleaner and can't afford to get it done professionally.

The house near ours has three apartments, everytime the woman cleans her place she opens the door and has spanish music on the stereo playing LOUD and it's not right that we can't even have a conversation outside our place in our own yard- so what should we do? (we called the police before- but they are so busy they never come for minor calls)

Do you add clothes while the washer is filling or do you wait until it's filled and beginning to agitate? Why?

I left out of town for 2 days. When i came back home i was going to wash a load of dirty clothes. When i opened the washer i realized i washed a load right before i left out of town. Now my clothes smell like detergent with a hint of mildew. Please let me know what i can do or buy to make my clothes get back to normal. I would sure hate to spend a lot of money to get new clothes.

Our dishwasher has been acting up and we have been doing our washing up after every meal. I think the kitchen is actually neater.
I miss the thing but I sort of like the fact that things get washed and put away in smaller batches. I only use the dishwasher every 3 days.
Has anyone else noticed that a lack of technology can be a good thing.

My wonderful boyfriend has a bathtub phobia. He's afraid that someone is hiding in the tub, so he never closes the curtain, and it gets mildew on it very quick because of this. I love him anyway. :) Any tips on products to help ward off the mold?

I have a front loading washing machine. I do use fabric conditioner but my towels always seem hard unless I put them in the tumble dryer. Has anyone any other suggestions.
I live in Australia (for product info).

Has anyone had this same problem and, if so, were you able to fix it? I haven't had time to return it and I'd rather just get it working. It works find except that the cleaning solution won't come out.

how to get organized and get rid of stuff I don't need. I keep lots of stuff for sentimental reasons. But the clutter is getting outrageous. Can you offer any suggestions? thanks :)

I have wood floors throughout my home. Is it safe to clean them with Murphy's? I heard that it ruins the finish? Thanks.

I'm cleaning a friend's condo to prep it for rental, since he doesn't have time and I can use the money. Problem: I'm not super domestic. I can do regular maintenance cleaning, but for this kind of thing I'm a little clueless. So, I need advice on doing a good detail job on this apartment. What are the best multi-purpose cleaners out there? What works best on walls? How about the inside of a fridge or cabinets? Any techniques that work particularly well? What kind of supplies should I take?

Please keep in mind that I don't want to spend $100 on supplies to do this. I have some cleaning supplies at my own apartment, but I expect that I will need to purchase a few items for this job. So reusable is better than disposable, universal/multi-purpose is better than item-specific.

The more detailed the answer, the better. Thanks, everybody!
