I am going to rent a house that people were evicted from. They did not take care of the house at all. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to effectivly clean the house, and carpets. I am interested in odor remover and stain remover. this house has really old carpet, looks like berber type and I intend to rent a steam cleaner. But are there any home remedies etc, that could also help? The former tenants left rotting food in the kitchen also. I want to get rid of the smells! I am getting first month rent free if we clean it ourselves, so I can't ask the landlord for help on this. Also, these people were smokers. I noticed the blinds had a lot of dirt possibly nicotine build up etc.
Thanks for sending me any helpful advice you have!!!

I sweat a lot at yoga and the gym so my clothes are super wet with sweat when i am finished. I can't always wash them right away so they sometimes get a real weird stink to them. After i wash them, they smell fine but when i sweat again the smell comes back as if the smell is hiding in the clothes. Are there any tricks to getting rid of that odor?

I really dont like to do dishes, but i have to... I usually take them down to Charlie's (a resteraunt down the street) and pay him 10 bucks to have his dish washer wash them for me... but 10 bucks adds up, it would be cheaper to do it myself, but im extremly lazy, as you can see...

My flip-flops always have a feet mark because of the dirt constantly around the feet from the open flip-flops....is there anyway, other than vigorously scrubbing them with toothbrush, to get them clean? I can usually get them decently clean, but I stand over the sink with a toothbrush scrubbing forever! I need an easier method! Help.

I am looking for a good way to clean the inserts that make a sippy cup spillproof. I do not have an automatic dishwasher and do everything by hand. I've got two small kids and they keep me busy, so sometimes the dishes sit for a while until I can get to them. I have trouble getting the inserts cleaned as they get juice and milk dried inside of them where I cannot clean it off by hand.

I am very clean and clean my toilets everyday but Sunday. Where the water comes out of the holes there is black mold there. I have tried scrubbing with cleanser and an old toothbrush, taking an old rag and putting bleach on it and rubbing it on the spots, but nothing completely takes it away. Maybe someone has an answer for me.
