The only WC I know of....doesn't have to do with your house...it stands for Walnut Creek....a town in California, next town over to mine!
WC is the nickname they called WC Fields the comedian actor!!

yes water closet is correct and still used in this country as well. most people don't know that. it IS it's origanal name and probably started in the USA. I'm in construction and still see WC on an architech's drawing's..
